Quoted here that it won't be

Would be a grewsome fight though.

Rios is a tough man, never stops coming and i wouldnt be surprised if rios beat brook,id put my money on rios if this fight happened but i wont b paying ppv prices for the fight
For dogs sakes plead don't waste your money betting on Rios.
Brook will fvcking mallet him.
IMO brook doesn't lose a round unless he does something stupid.

Dan Rafael was at Arum's house on Friday and said that Provo is still being considered, so I'm not sure what to think. I wonder what type of money Rios would be getting paid to fight Brook, because I think his chances of winning that are much lower than his chances of beating Provo. On the other hand, even if he loses to Brook I can still see there being significant appeal in Rios-Provo, whereas I don't think the reverse is true, and perhaps that's what's meant by Rios-Provo being a 'down the line' fight.

So let brook beat him, then offer khan the fight, when he bottles it, I'd then go after Garcia and beat him and basically force khan to fight whilst he is praying for floyd to set him up.
Good post

It's a good fight IF mayweather was being truthful about fighting berto or Mayfield in September as it will put huge pressure on khan to pick a good opponent next time out.
If mayweather is honest then we are heading for brook khan next year as it's Khan's only big fight left as an 'a' side

Strange one this, Brook fans will tell you Khan is nobody in the division, doesn't deserve the fight with floyd, Khan hasn't beaten any proper welterweights, isn't a big name anymore, terrible chin, easy nights for brook etc yet they beg for the fight. Does no one else find that odd?

Put it on another thread about Rios purse for this fight. Going off what he has been paid in the past will be between £500-600k at minimum.

If I was brooks team I would be pushing for a khan fight too.
Good payday, very much manageable risk.

They shouldn't be slating Khan for doing the same thing then.

Don't you just switch off when you see boxing fans double standards nowadays? Good god man you've been posting on here long enough surely? ;;-)

Fair point, it just bugged me this morning, or afternoon I should say. I'll put it down the stinking hangover I've got.

Great idea. If I run short of work this afternoon I'll make a start on the definitive decision tree for boxing fans.

Or you could just go with:
"I like A."
"A is poo."
Repeat across any topic you can imagine.
what about the people who just think everyone is a pudendum?

That's branch one of the decision tree:
"Do you actually like any boxers and/or boxing?"
-
If No
-
Call them a bum
-
Process complete.

It isn't as easy as Brook clicking his fingers and getting a top fighter. Most of them are unavailable, have fights scheduled or don't want to fight him.

Clicking your fingers takes seconds ... Not 18 months

Rios isn't bad and when he could drain himself down to lightweight but still perform he really was world class. He doesn't get hit much at all once he gets inside either.
Technically he's better than Porter but Porter is a much bigger, stronger and more athletic pressure fighter. We've seen Brook deal with that so we know he'll be able to deal with Rios. That's the reason this is a disappointment. The only upside would be that if he stopped him it could be favourably compared to Pacman's performance.
Even an elderly and small Marquez would give me more possibilities to ponder and make this feel ppv worthy.

Surprised this fight is getting so much negativity. Bam Bam is a good opponent and big name. If brook destroys him i'll be impressed.

Has Hearn actually organized a high profile competitive fight this year, or is he still piggy backing om other peoples shows and making mismatches that nobody cares about! He's failed the boxing public this year no doubt!

I`m not sure he has,Mitchell-Linares was good and for a title but was it high profile enough,it was part of a quality show imo but lacked a genuine ppv main event but the show would of been £17 of my money on box office if I didn`t attend it and was well worth £80 live plus Selby beat a champion coming over on that show. The July 18th card is quality 2 british title fights one world title fight and Quigg-Martniez which is a quality fight which is pretty high profile imo but he has made any huge fights like Froch-Bute or Froch-Groves this year but who has in this country. He has only put on 3 shows out of 8 which I would deem as acceptable this year on normal sky so he does have to do allot better imo.

rios is in a good position. he pulls out the paper views off. He can command a kings ransom and if not no probs he got options in the US. If brook fights 3 easy touches this year its very dissapointing and he will have lost great momentum after porter
