There are hand picked opponents and there are hand picked opponents! Fought once in 7 years. Looking forward to this epic fight.
There's a certain logic to that.Fuzzy Warbles wrote:In the eyes of the MBC everyone has a 'world ranking'
Moran has been active in MMA (different I know, but at least he's not been dredged out of TOTAL retirement)mimmy123 wrote:There are hand picked opponents and there are hand picked opponents! Fought once in 7 years. Looking forward to this epic fight.
I think that was against Andy Wright? If I recall correctly it was originally billed as a legit fight but there was some issue with Mugabi's license (I may be wrong about this, was a long time ago) an exhibition was approved so Mugabi could appear on the bill, Wright went at Mugabi as if it was still a 'real' fight, Mugabi responded in kind until the ref called time on it (something like that anyway?)palooka wrote:I read about an exhibition bout that John Mugabi had with a hand picked opponent, the bout was in London, in the 80's (I think) and the bloke have iit a eight go - I think I remembered the ref stopped the bout as they were both really going for it.

MBC International Cruiserweight Championship apparently, wonder what's happened to Jones' WBU title?
I like the look of Quigley vs DeCastro too tbhthepocketrocket wrote:In all seriousness, Paul Economides v Prosper Ankrah should be a cracker. Ankrah is ranked in the top 100 on Boxrec, and much higher than Paul. Fight of the night.
Yeah, that should be excellent. There is something strange about Roy Jones fighting Tony Moran , and I'm not sure what to make of it, but those two we have mentioned should be crackersLooking On wrote:I like the look of Quigley vs DeCastro too tbhthepocketrocket wrote:In all seriousness, Paul Economides v Prosper Ankrah should be a cracker.
