No, I was born in London to Irish parents my brother was the all Ireland super feather weight champion as well as fighting for the British title , but when I go to Ireland I'm considered English as I have a London accent ,all the old paddies in the pub that knew my dad say I'm English or a plastic paddy . I think of myself as half and half the same as I would of thought Andy does the Irish bit is throw in to sell tickets

Not really to do with where you're born though, it's more where you're raised. My Dad was born in Sri Lanka and lived there till 3 years old before coming to England. He's now 62 and far more English than Sri Lankan due to spending almost 60 years of his life here.

I don't know where Andy has spent his life from what has been said he boxed ameteur in England and in America as a pro so he's very different from your dad who has spent his life in England, if Andy had been like calzaghe who was born in London but spent the vast majority of his life in Wales then I'd say he's a paddy,like I said I've never really followed his career but from what I think I know he wasn't born in Ireland or spent his life there .......but I'm just going on things written here . If I'm wrong and he's spent his life in Ireland then he's Irish if not he's a plastic paddy like myself.....

I have trained and boxed alongside andy as an amature I have never seen him as any thing but 100% irish c'mon Britain you took our 6 counties don't try and take andy too!

I don't know why anyone's that obsessed in this day and age.... I would suggest that he can be both if he feels like it.
And it's largely his choice. I reckon he feels Irish.

I know guys brought up and born here of Irish extraction, one says he's definitely Irish, one says he's bit of both, one says he's an Irish londoner...
