Eddie did not make any super fights himself this year so he has to try and buy some!!!

Some of the press are reporting that Hearn / Sky might consider a punt on the purse bids to bring Fury vs Klitschko to sky box office.

If he won it then he'd pick the venue, undercard - the lot.

Fury has been across ITV, channel 5 and BN so is not really affiliated to one particular station and would likely not care too much as long he was receiving the maximum money and exposure.

I think whomever bids from the UK, will need a whopper to see off the Germans.

If it's held here it could be a great night, if it's over in Germany it could be a pretty sterile affair. It's all interesting nonetheless. I'd definitely forecast big Joshua on the undercard if Eddie pulled it off.

A friend of mine had Eddie on his radio show a few weeks ago and he asked him who he'd like to sign. Fury was top of the list. Can't remember who else. He's on here occasionally, announcerphil, doing the mic on the Spike show tomorrow.

To be fair, this is a PPV fight, not like Brook v Gavin or Bellew v Cleverley. I hope Hearn does win it as this would be a better event on Sky and I would definitely buy it.

Hearn is just teasing Warrren as Frank has done to him in the past when Purse bids have loomed for a matchroom fighter.

In theory through with matchroom being neutral when it comes to the fighters they would find it easier to get round the 75% to Wladdy stumbling block. If Hearn was a real G he would be trying to negotiate directly with K2 to ice Frrank out and do a deal together if possible.

It is I'll more than likely be there and I don't care who broadcasts it, it wasn't me who said they hope Sky get it.

Wouldn't go as far as saying it's a ppv fight. It's just another mandatory for Wlad against another fighter in the queue who just happens to have a bit of character and is British. He's not really fought anyone to suggest that he is anywhere near the level of Wlad

Can't agree with that at all. I much prefer BN's coverage to Sky's anyway.

So when K2 win the purse bid, will FW and Eddie/Sky then bid/negotiate to get it on their channel?

If that's the case it must come down to how much Sky want the fight?

Yes I do, and it's amateurish. You can't tell me that their coverage is better than Sky's seriously??! It's like that mate everyone has that loves a band until they become commerically successful and then thinks they've sold out. Doesn't make you more of a 'purist' than me or a bigger fan. I just love the hype of it all. Nothin wrong with that, and I make no apolgies for it.

I find the hype the most boring aspect of boxing. Who cares what they say before the fight? Anybody can making promises at a press conference. Personally, I'd rather the build up be nothing more than information as to when the fight is, and what channel I can watch it on.

But it's subjective, really. It's just what a person enjoys.

I'd pay the £17.95 to Sky just for the Halling commentary alone.

Hype doesn't mean just what the boxer says though, it's things like the 24/7's, the pundits' opinions, newspaper coverage, casuals talking about it. You would get none of this if the fight is on BN. To me, this stuff makes the event, then it's up to the fight to deliver. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't... either way, Sky provide good entertainment in the build up.

It'll be free to air in Germany, RTL TV - which I guess you can pick up in the UK for those with their old dishes.

His biggest UK competitors Warren/Hennessy might bid higher than they planned to if they think Matchroom/Sky is keen to bag the fight, if fhey pay over the odds to promote the event they will make less profit from the event.

Just one possible theory as to why Hearn hinted he might bid. Like Jim i cant understand why he needed to announce this.
