Is that Dan Rafael being ignorant / forgetful, or are allegedly really not in the running at all for the UK TV rights?
If a deal has been reached between both sides I would be surprised if it wasnt on Boxn@tion... K2 gets to promote it and have it on home soil... What does Fwank get if he doesnt get the TV rights???

Unless of course by both sides they mean K2 and Mick Hennessey, and good old Fwank has nothing to do with it... Then we could be looking at Free to Air on Channel 5!!! :o (Hopeful thinking lol)

Seriously though, Im struggling to see what Team Fury/Mick Hennessey/Fwank Warren has gotten out of this deal!!! They dont get to promote it, its on in Germany, and if they had let it go to purse bids they would of had at least had 25% (or 20%) of the $18mill purse Vlad Hrunov was going to bid!!!

The deal was between Hennessey and K2 I think, but yes, I am equally as confused as to why they accepted such a deal at such late notice, especially with $18 million apparently on the table.

i don't know the ins and outs of the deal but if this fight doesn't end up on B ox N ation that would be a disaster for Fwank, he's put a lot of effort into wooing Fury onto his channel and Chisora was the WBO number one contender before he lost to Fury. What a lot of time, effort and money, jesus if Wlad vs Fury ends up on Sky Fwank's gonna be seriously cross

Fury will fiddle him about for a few rounds by switching stances before eating a monster right.

Hope I'm wrong.

The only think I can think of is that Fury was offered a generous purse split, but then that begs the question how does it benefit Klitschko??? Unless they just didnt know Hrunov was going to bid $18mil!

what fury gets out of it is a shot at the champ and a career high payday. The flip side would have been wlad fights another mandatory.

He's in no real position to negotiate just like khan isn't with mayweather. Wlad would rather drop a belt than give away unnecessary money.

There is no other mandatory for Wlad, he either fights Fury next or drops his WBA and WBO belts! I doubt he would willingly drop his belts, he wants to unify one day! He's not as big as Mayweather, only Mayweather is bigger than the belts, Klit needs them!

I imagine they will become closer the sooner the fight gets, much like Mayweather vs Pacquiao... And I disagree, put your house on Fury at those odds

If there's ever a place where the belts matter it's at Heavyweight. If Tyson's getting less than the $3.6m he would have got if Hryunov put in the rumoured $18m bid, then they've cocked up.

Indeed they have! Unless they just didnt fancy Russia for some reason! Dusseldorf isnt that far from home on the West side of Germany!

It seems that the plan was for Hryunov to win the purse bids and put the fight on in Russia to drive subscriptions for allegedly in Russia. Fat Mick didn't like the idea of that and did a deal with K2 for the fight to take place in Germany, cutting Frank and Hryunov out of the deal in the process.

Don't really think wlad would fancy fighting in a country that is occupying this homeland (where his brother is politically against Russia).

If wlad didn't want to face fury, he wouldn't. He will have it all on his terms and fury would be told to take it or leave it. Wlad is the star attraction at heavyweight in Europe and now wilder is champ the yanks are interested

It is one thing paying a one-off PPV fee, but to have to subscribe to a channel to get access takes the piss (particularly when said channel is subject to many internet posts about how difficult it is to cancel the subscription and they keep taking their direct debits every month).
Like when you have to subscribe to Sky to watch their channels? Or any other subscription channel for that matter.
Confused me that I was thinking the same. Unless he is hoping channel 5 get it.
I am not sure why you and Expe are confused?

Unless the fight is on Channel 5 then you will need a satellite subscription already before you think about watching the fight.

If it is in Sky PPV then you pay a single one-off fee to watch the fight.

If it is on B*allegedly then you have to subscribe to the channel (not sure what the minimum period is, but as I said with their track record I wouldn't want to subscribe for the purpose of one single fight).

I can't explain it more simple than that.

It seems like he has, Bernd Boente told Dan Rafael that the fight would be on ITV, Sky or BT, no mention of allegedly. Warren didn't have anyone there bidding, but Hryunov was by all accounts set to win with a huge bid, Mick then made a deal with K2 with 4 minutes remaining before the purse bids and has cut Frank and the Russians out of proceedings.

Is an undersized 6 ft 3 inch worse than a tubby 6 ft 1/6 ft 2 inch, like Fury's last two opponents? The two guys that dumped Fury on his ass were also 6'3" and both are light-hitters.

You're making absolutely no sense.

If the fight's on Sky PPV you pay somewhere between £15 and £20 for the fight.

If the fight's on allegedly then you pay the £12 monthly subscription, plus the £8 subscription fee, which is waived for Virgin Media customers, so either £12 or £20 for the fight, plus everything else that allegedly shows in that month, which would likely include Cotto-Alvarez, any shows that Frank puts on in that month and several other major fights from around the world. Then at the end of the month you continue to subscribe as it's great value for any boxing fan, or you cancel for free and walk away.

Not difficult to see which one is the better deal.

I'm assuming Frank W had nothing to do with the negotiations, and as you said, Fury was offered something he was looking for such as a better purse split. Otherwise, I don't see why Frank W would accept without TV being involved.

No, not if it had gone to purse bids and the Russian won, he would have had to go to Russia, England or wherever he was told or give up the belt, he maybe the champion but money talks when it comes to purse bids.
