Makes you wonder if he ever intended to fight Trout as well.

Yeah that's the thing, Trout would seem to be a winnable fight for Mundine more so then Andrade.

Trout was probably someone Mundine could have been competitive against. But Trout is a world class southpaw and I think that would have been an added hurdle because Mundine has fought few southpaws and none of them slick like Trout is.

I wish he'd just take the damn fight and have a crack. if he loses then so be it.
Either way he has to fight soon, GGG fights every three months. Anthony had a good win last up and didnt cash in it seems to me

Looks like all the negotiations and angry exchanges between the two camps were a waste of time anyway

WBO says no to Andrade-Mundine

By Karl Freitag

Looks like attempts by WBO junior middleweight champion Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade (21-0, 14 KOs) to defend his title against former two-time super middleweight titlist Anthony “The Man” Mundine (47-7, 27 KOs) in Australia were all for naught. WBO Presdent Paco Valcarcel today put the kibosh on that fight. Andrade is very close to being stripped of the WBO title due to inactivity over the past 13 months.

The two camps have been negotiating very loudly and very publically for some time now. How could nobody have foreseen the Mundine-isn't-rated-by-the-WBO issue earlier - in particular the WBO themselves who were already getting concerned about how long it was taking Andrade to defend?

Talk about amateurs. Everyone involved, from the WBO down

Will be interesting to see who Andrade does fight now. He needs to get a fight made or kiss his title goodbye.

The WBO have stripped Andrade of his title for failing to defend.

Andrade will finally return to the ring in mid October against 20-2 Argentinian Dario Fabian Pucheta for the vacant WBO International Junior title.
