You are exactly the type of Brit my ignorance is aimed at and you proved it with that classy statement above. Mother jokes were funny in the USA back in 1985 so I can see you guys are still right on pace, 30 years behind us in everything.

I'm also 44 so we've both watched the same era of boxing and could probably have a more healthy debate about boxers but you got a little dark with the visual that didn't go well with my coffee so i'm out. Look, I was a huge fan of Austin Powers. He was the greatest thing that ever came out of England, at least I can admit that.
30 years behind everything? I was reading an interesting article yesterday on the success of Apple Pay and how it has blown the mind of the average American because the country has only recently adopted the chip and pin system. UK has been using chip and pin for years. Even contactless payment is the norm here, it's you guys who are behind the times writing "checks" and scribbling signatures. The likes of Apple Pay will not make as big a splash over here. Same thing with texting, it took years for the Americans to get to grips with it. And football (soccer)? They are still trying to work that one out.

First off, Soccer will never take off because the sport is shit. Yellow cards, Green cards, Birthday Cards and a bunch of fairies diving on the ground pretending their hurt. We expect a tougher athlete over here and that's why NFL Football is king. Second of all, you guys are nothing more than lab rats for America. We try stuff there to see if it works before we introduce it here because if you guys can figure it out then anyone could. Lastly, you idiots would be speaking German if it weren't for us so be a little more appreciative that we came to Churchill's aid at zero hour. Typical ingrates.

I'm not even going to argue the point any further with you as I admit I found your reply amusing. But ultimately the greatest example of the US being behind the times is their gun culture.

Yeah because those 7 American pilots who took part in the battle of Britain made all the difference

Admit it - the thought of Carl analising your mother is turning you on - just a teeny bit.

I bet Ukranians would have loved to have this dilemma, down in 1931.

All ten millions of them.

They had guns in 1917-1920. Didn't help.

They have them now and fight each other.

I said "athlete", not a bunch of hairy drunk guys monkey f'ng each other over a submarine sandwich. Rugby and Soccer, is that what i'm arguing with? I should have my head examined. Go have some fish and chips or some f'ng thing and rehearse your Christmas songs that you've somehow altered the lyrics to be some poor brits ring walk song.

Don't they have a British portion of this site you guys are supposed to stick to? You aren't ready for the big time yet so go simmer over there for a little bit and work on your game.

You've evaded my point.

The best one I heard was that the American war of independence was just a British civil war fought abroad.

largely true, it reprised issues that had caused at least 3 prior English Civil Wars
