Re: Would You Bet a Month's Wages on Fury?
I think Fury needs to approach it like Corrie Saunders (R.I.P) did and go out there and throw some leather. If he gets through, then I think he will kncok him out. Klitchko is so good at leaning on smaller people/leaning back, that they can't reach him, but big guys with fast hands can. And Wlad does not have an Evander Holyfield type of chin. Everytime he gets hit, his eyes are wide open and he wobbles
I woouldn't bet big on this, but I reckon a cheeky £20 could get a decent return.

The odds aren't even attractive enough to make a bet worthwhile. 13-2 is best odds on a Fury KO - hardly huge.big lennox wrote:I think Fury needs to approach it like Corrie Saunders (R.I.P) did and go out there and throw some leather. I work on this theory, it doesn't matter how good the odds are on a losing bet.
Re: Would You Bet a Month's Wages on Fury?
I wouldn't bet a stack on anyone going in with Wlad who has already been put on his arse by Steve Cunningham and Nevan Pajkic.

So you believe that Fury is 100 certain to win by KO then?keithmoonhangover wrote:Odd never bother me, I only bet on something I'm convinced is gong to happed.jamesmcdonnell wrote:The odds aren't even attractive enough to make a bet worthwhile. 13-2 is best odds on a Fury KO - hardly huge.big lennox wrote:I think Fury needs to approach it like Corrie Saunders (R.I.P) did and go out there and throw some leather. Surely you analyse the likelihood of your chosen outcome happening - if you don't you are destined to lose a lot of money overall.
I'd give Fury 10 chance of winning overall, and would say 75% of that would be by KO, so that's less than 10/1 odds of him getting the KO win, which to me makes 13-2 unattractive.
Of course you may have different thoughts, however, I don't see how they are based on anything more than gut instinct, or plumping for what you would LIKE to see happen.
still, your money, do as you wish.

Lord no mate, crossed wires. Fury's got very little chance at all. If I was betting, it'd be on Wlad by stoppage mate.jamesmcdonnell wrote: So you believe that Fury is 100 certain to win by KO then?

Yeah, Wlad stoppage seems by far the most likely outcome, however, odds are so short on that, you'd have to bung a load on to make anything significant.

I know and if Fury boxes like he did against Johnson, he might last the distance.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Ah gotcha - sorry, I see what happened there now - I was misreading your post.keithmoonhangover wrote:Lord no mate, crossed wires. Yes, that's the worry, that Fury manages to survive by staying out of harms way, and then you lose a load of cash.
I suppose the sensible thing would just be Wlad to win, but then you've got to whizz on a load more money.
If I had 500 quid spare which I could afford to risk, I'd go for that.

Re: Would You Bet a Month's Wages on Fury?
The sensible thing to do would be claim you bet a month's wages, then as the fight progresses and it looks as if Fury is on his way to losing claim you laid it off mid-fight so you didn't actually lose any money.
Re: Would You Bet a Month's Wages on Fury?
No, but I don't think it's a foregone conclusion for Wlad either. I'm going and I wouldn't go if I thought it was a mismatch. I'd give Tyson a 20-25% chance. Tbh I couldn't see myself putting a month's wages on Fury but give me some crazy odds and I might be tempted. Nothing ventured etc.keithmoonhangover wrote:Do you think he's going to win?Noxy wrote:For what odds?

Generous indeed. You think he wins between 1 of 4 times against Wlad?Noxy wrote:No, but I don't think it's a foregone conclusion for Wlad either. I wouldn't bet a days wages, especially as the price is so bad, Love him or hate him Vlad is probably p4p number 2 in the world right now, has fought and beat the best for the last 10 years and will probably go down as a top ten all time HW. I wish him well but Fury has no chance here.

Whilst on skills he's not the second best fighter per se (he is a big guy after all) - his record really speaks for itself, he's not come close to losing for over a decade now. He probably should go down top 10, on consistency, longevity, and who would beat who.

I don't know about that. I meant that I give Tyson an outside chance of pulling it off this time. If Fury is as crazy as he appears it may actually stand him in good stead for this fight. After all what right-thinking person would fancy their chances against Wlad in Germany. On the one hand, I'm not convinced Fury isn't going to go out there and take it to the cobbles (and get chinned). On the other hand, if he brings a sound gameplan and sees it through, it could get interesting.

Well, if you give him a 20% chance of winning, that's 1 time in 5, if you give him 25% then it's one in 4 - worth looking at it that way when trying to compare odds being offered, to actual chance of winning.
It sounds to me like you don't actually rate his chances anywhere near as high as your own numbers suggest.
Let's be honest, it wouldn't matter if they fought on the moon, Tyson's chances are very slim because he is nowhere near as good as Wlad.
Re: Would You Bet a Month's Wages on Fury?
Wlad by KO/TKO/DQ is evens. I'm seriously considering taking out a loan, that's the most absurd odds i think i may have ever seen. Before checking the market i honestly expected about 1/6 for Wlad by KO.

I don't think so, I'd say those odds are about right, I'd say Wlad is 90% likely to win, and about 70% of that comes by KO. That 63% so not far over evens.Ricky_ wrote:Wlad by KO/TKO/DQ is evens. What odds can you get for a Vlad win by any means? That's worth a months wages depending on the price.

7-2 on to win.
So you'd be happy to wager say 3000 to win less than 1000, and potentially lose the lot if he got done in a freak injury?

There's no way Fury won't get knocked out, he's well out his depth and has jumped a few levels to get the shot, Pajkic and cunninghim put him flat on his back. Wlad is going to utterly destroy Fury at any time he throws a shot in anger, left hook, right cross...
The only problem i can see is if this happens:

Do the bookies pay out if Fury KO's himself??
