These sound like two mismatches to me.

Leon was the bigger brother, but he was also less talented; he doesn't go past 6 rounds.

Michael was smaller, but much more gifted, but Smokin' Joe did not respect LHWs & would barrel his way through Michael.

Michael would probably have lasted longer by virtue of his awkwardness & as long as he wasn't petrified, he might just make it to round 8.

When you are trying to be a patronising smartass, it help if you get the correct vernacular. Otherwise it can be a case of egg on face. I think you will find the ENGLISH reference is " rose tinted glasses " I have no interest at all in any American alternatives.

None of the Marx brothers were HW's, so if you are serious about this (and you are sober as a judge as I understand) then you have just sentenced Chico, Harpo, and Zeppo to their demise....Groucho would act as corner man, and be too smart to engage.

I honestly don't think that the Frazier-Spinks hypothetical is a farce. Michael had his way with Larry Holmes, and though I could see an outcome where Frazier plays the role of Tyson....it's not laughable that Michael could come off with a very competitive fight with Joe....I don't hold that hope for Leon, because he's going to step in....but Mike is more cautious than both Bob Foster and Leon, and has a better chin, and was a better ring general. Those wins over Larry (even if you discount the second one) are made from great ring craftsmanship, though Larry just about worked out the puzzle the second time around. If Michael can stay composed, and keep the incoming managed, over an entire 12 or 15 rounds, (cuz Joe aint slowin' down) then it could be a long night for both men.

Leon would get outpointed by Frazier over 15 rounds.. I'm talking about the Leon who beat Ali.. LS was fast, but too available to be hit and too green.

Michael was too big, tall, strong, with a solid physique -- and too good a boxer for Smokin' Joe... He beats Frazier up and knocks him out... Michael fought so intelligently and with such a high skill level it's hard to imagine he was related to Leon... Forget the Tyson fight. Michael's knees were history and he cashed out.. Michael came into the ring against Tyson with both knees bundled up tight..

What happens is boxers do squats with a barbell on their shoulders... and they'll skip rope on a wooden floor and do double and triple spins as they jump into the air... and some run on pavement instead of grass, a track, or a cross country running trail.. and they do other things that stress their knees.. You compensate with the other leg and pretty soon your other knee has problems.. When your knees reach a certain point you're done for good.

So are you claiming we have a mythical Spinks here, who trains on foam mattresses, in case his knees suffer? Is Joe allowed to do the same? Is Joe even allowed to lift weights, or does he not need to because he is a natural heavy, as opposed to a 175 pounder who WANTS to bulk up and fight at Heavy? I honestly marvel at some of the shite you post to try to justify your weird admiration of some fighters. If Spinks spent months and months in a gym lifting weights trying to bulk up to fight Heavies for bigger money, and he knees got shot, so what? F&&k him.

His knees were still good for Holmes, but he wasn't done adding size and strength and he continued to lift weights.. He would have done better concentrating on his upper body rather than do his legs in with barbell squats.. Strong legs wouldn't do work versus a 21-year-old Mike Tyson who was 218 pounds of iron-hard power..

Tyson was a short guy, but not small for Heavyweights of his era.. Frazier was both short AND small for a Heavyweight so the Michael Spinks who fought Holmes would have had a very good chance to stay with Joe and rip him with a variety of punches from every angle..
