LSC showed an excellent jab tonight when both guys weren't windmilling.

it depends. some guys have jabs that are very effective against most opponents but are full
of holes defensively. ali had a great jab as long as he was moving, as did roy jones and
hearns in that sense. pac's punches are effective, but his hands come down and then the punches
come from chest level before he brings them back up deliberately when he anticipates counters,
with his in and out movement, especially at angles, protecting him from counters mostly.
i always like the guys who keep their back hand up, elbows and chin in while throwing it,
leading with the shoulder and turning the torso when throwing it so the jab is like a whip,
then bringing the jab hand back high and elbow back in, and adjusting their height with the
legs so they can throw it under the defense and with balance so they can then back away from
the reflex counter attack, looking for more openings on the way out. mccallum, haugen, jcc,
m.a. barrera, jmm, all could keep themselves protected well throwing the jab and setting up their
other shots, and knew when to throw it. these days, both cotto and canelo have technically good
jabs which they often use with power on the inside like a cross and also defensively as powerful
counters. cotto's is better, though. clottey also does, but doesn't set up off of it as much and
prefers to ear muff his way to the inside and hook. errol spence is technically sound.

This is a good shout, controlled the Yang fight very intellegently and will need to use his jab very well if he is to be successful against bigger names with his lack of punch power.

Wladimir Klitchko, atg jab. Floyd's jab to the body is incredibly effective. Young boxers should perfect both those punches. Wlad's jab is so good he turns it round the corner and it's a hellacious left hook. Knocked out Pulev if i remember correctly with a perfect lh.

In the DLH fight, Floyd would throw a lazy jab to the head, followed by a stiff jab to the body. He did this again and agaun and it was genuine class - I think it won him the fight as Oscar gassed late.

Others, Vlad, Ward, Cotto. At domestic level iv always liked Kevin Mitchell's jab. Sets his left hook off it nicely.
