Because Briggs doesn't deserve to get rewarded with a title fight. Briggs should have to go through Edmund Gerber or Alexander Dimitrenko just to get a shot at Lucas Browne or Christian Hammer.

Let's not make it look like Wilder only fights deserving challengers now.

Huh? Briggs can punch. Tarver has little power, and does't move as well as he used to.

Briggs would win this one. Since neither is going to fight a top ten guy, they should meet in the ring.

Everyone knows Briggs is a dangerous puncher, which is why he isn't getting a match with a top ten guy. The risk is high, and the reward is too low.
It doesn't matter that Briggs can punch. He has an asthma attack after 2 minutes of fighting. Tarver would knock Briggs out in the middle rounds I guarantee you.

Briggs will never fight Tarver unless Tarver beats Wlad. In other words, Briggs will never fight Tarver.

Briggs is too busy beating restaurant owners like Marrone.
