Fury's only chance is if it turns into the WWF, and he hits Klitschko with a chair when the ref aint looking.

What sort of variables, a gunman on a grassy knoll - a freak meteor strike - spontaneous combustion?

Not a chance. His break through 'world' level win is the haye fight that never happened. If it had then we wouldn't be talking about this fight.

Fury has played the sanctioning body game and talked himself into this fight and payday so fair play to him for that. It doesn't mean he has a chance though. Wlad will stick a jab in his face all night and throw a few right hands that will see him on his way.
Talked his way to being mandatory challenger?
If you knew anything about how the sanctioning bodies work, you'd know that promoters and managers work hard to get their fights up in the rankings, it's not an unbiased system by any means - there's a lot of cajoling and promises made.

More like will Fury go the way of so many before him and allow the range of defensive tactics Wlad employs (grabbing, clinching, tying up in range, stepping out of range, slapping gloves away, leaning on etc etc) and get mesmerised by the jab and slowly but surely shrink into his shell and mentally give-up.

I think he's got more resolve than say, Chagaev.

He's also got height and Southpaw stance in his favour. He's not a one-punch hitter or has speed of hand like Brewster or Sanders.

I think he'll do better than a lot of others have done before him, certainly think he'll do better than Haye did/promised.

Of course he could go full retard and fight a dumb fight. I dunno, if I'm honest.

I remember this coming up when Glyn was around and the discussion basically centred around that fact that nobody really has "given it a go" against Wlad. Povetkin did but I think that was after the thread we posted in. He did ok early on but once he tasted some power shots he sort of gave up around the midway point and then Wlad started with his bag of holding on tricks.

I think the problem is that once people get in the ring they get a rude awakening for the following reasons.

Wlad is incredibly hard to hit clean.
Wlad is much quicker than you'd think for a man of his bulk.
All of w lads punches hurt even the jab.

To Paraphrase Tyson 'Everyone has a gameplan, until they get hit.'

Be interesting how this fight is on the 'inside'
Normally Wlad is allowed to hold.
Fury likes to hit and hold aswell.
If the fight is dirty and messy I actually think it will suit Tyson.
I really hope Tyson doesn't try to outbox him from range as a southpaw as Wlad will out jab him all night long.

The only way I can see a Fury win, is if he doubles and triples the jab, and keeps Wlad on the defensive, and keeps his concentration to avoid the counters - he has to test Wlad's stamina, as this is really his only weakness. If you can back Wlad up, and get him on the defensive, he becomes very uncomfortable and disorganised, it's just not that easy to do, pressure is the only way, and you have to avoid him hitting you back very hard.

Wlad is not that adaptable, he has a fixed gameplan he executes every single fight, if you can get him off that gameplan, there's a chance.

Trouble is, I don't think Fury is technically good enough to carry out the strategy outlined above. He will leave openings, get countered and get hurt.

Do you think fury will fight orthodox or southpaw ?
I don't think he jabs hard enough southpaw to keep Wlad from dictating his own jab.
I personally think he will fight mostly as a southpaw.
