Ref smiling and holding Spence's hand a little too long...think he's expecting a kiss for taking that point?

You know a fight is a horrible mismatch when all they can say about the opponent is "He's a very proud guy".

Superman proves himself again as a true Superman when it comes to beating women and C level contenders. Think he'll find his balls soon and fight a top contender or (gasp) Kovalev?

What a shitty card. Thankfully it ended fast, so now I can just concentrate on the TruTV card.

Say what you want about Superman.

But he did call out Killer tonight.

And rubbed the purse bid fiasco in his face while doing so.

Ball in your court, Ms. Duva...

Karpency did ok imo. Stevenson did show power, but didnt impress me. I think kovalev might just walk throug him should they meet.

Stevenson vs Kovalev would be interesting while it lasted . I can see Adonis jumping on Kovalev from the get go he can't outbox Kovalev that is for sure.

Let's hope Ruddock has the sense to call it quits.

Great win for Spence.
Hopefully in the next year they will feed him some names for his record.

I still haven't spotted any flaws with him yet though.
Title fight in 2017 I reckon.

I thought Karpency looked the classier fighter until he got hit by a good shot from Stevenson. Kovalev would absolutely destroy them both. Stevenson was an average fighter, got given a chance against Dawson, and hasn't looked back.

Those jokers from Quebec can't make any progress in the rest of Canada as long as they insist on everyone speaking french to them. United Promotions has put on some good cards featuring local fighters at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, and there have been some nice cards at Casino Rama. All without benefit of GYM. Lennox Lewis is interested in promoting the sport in Ontario so I expect to see more top names there and out west.

Quebec has been running and keeping Canadian boxing out of the shadows for the last decade. So promoters in Canada outside Quebec should learn a thing or two from these "jokers".

Getting Molitor/Pajkic on TSN (years ago) and Daley (who got stopped by a gatekeeper recently) on community TV is pretty much the best results these promoters you mentioned achieved so far...

Yvon Michel (GYM) and Interbox pack 15K+ in arenas... They signed deals with the national TV broadcasters and got boxing regularly on "regular tv". They have promoters wanting to promote events in Mtl & Quebec to bank in on the Gate revenues and atmosphere in these packed arenas.

Have you ever attended events in Quebec at the Bell center? Because personal hate aside, you'd quickly realize that most of the surrounding communications generated around the event are done in english.

Montreal was always a good boxing town. In the old days it was live and let live. Then petty politics crept into it. The promoters turned their backs on the rest of Canada and tried to portray themselves as a separate political entity with "Quebec championship" titles instead of pursuing real national titles. Well, their Quebec heavyweight champion Eric Martel got hammered by the Canadian heavyweight champion Dillon Carman. How many home-grown champions have they made since Bob Cleroux and Fernand Marcotte? All they do is import talent from Europe and Haiti and pretend they're Quebeckers. I was born and raised in Montreal and my people came from there many generations back, so it saddens me to see what has become of the place. Guess there aren't too many real Canadians left in the home of the Montreal Canadiens, eh. There was a time not so long ago when les canadiens were proud to win and defend a Canadian championship. I'll be curious to see how many "Quebec" boxers follow Bermane Stiverne's lead and apply for US citizenship. Bonne chance!

I won't get into details because you clearly have hate and animosity in what you're saying and I prefer having those types of discussion with non biased participants. When I read blatant hate on forums, I usually leave it alone.

But the evident BS that couldn't be further from reality about how everything had to be in french for Qc promoters is what drag me into asking you if you actually attended events as a media at bell ceter (which you didn't answer yet) because it would show you how wrong you are. Boxing is still an English sport and it's reflected on spot with the vast majority of communications and staff being English... Everyone I spoke to from promoters, cutmans, journalists, managers....that talked English felt it was a GREAT venue and thanked mtl in the post fight pressers saying that the #1 thing about the city was how welcoming it was....

Do your research about Qc fighters, you'll see that everything was and is well with the sport
