World Title fight? He just battered a joiner.

Hearn seems more interested in flogging some tickets than progression because the quality of his opposition is getting worse. LEt's see what he does when he comes up against someone who isn't Tomato can, that he can't blow out in the space of a couple of minutes.

Get big Tony Thompson over here, he loves coming to the UK, can take 1 hell of a shot and can punch back. And is a SP.

TT would be a bit of jump in class though, maybe he needs a Chisora in between.

Great route for AJ .pulev would be the fight for me where AJ would prove his world title credentials he's still a hungry fighter rather than say Thompson who's at the stage where it would just be a payday

I like this except I'd switch the Chisora fight for a Haye fight at the Olympic Stadium in the summer.

If Haye does indeed come back.

I'd have to say it matters how the fights continue, if it become fights like yesterday (10 minits of work max, barely even out of breath fights)

But I'd have to say with that that this is really speculating, if Klitschko loses against Fury it's a completely differend story again, if Joshua loses or get injured or some of his opponends do or refuse to fight or whatever then it would automatically become totally differend.


On the other side I do think Wilder his management made a big mistake by taking 0.0 risk.
He's pretty much forced to fight Povetkin next but he's completely not ready for it at all.


I would schedule a lot of fights though, not like just once every 4 months but really like every 1,5 months and if nobody wants then rapidly move on. Only when the fights suddenly get worse (12 rounds fights and such) I would slow down fighting new opponends.

Oh come on, for 10M+ I'll take the fight with Povetkin, I might fake an injury after 2 minits but I'll show up in that ring!

Pretty much Frank Bruno stuff so far, we need to find out when Joshua has his Jumbo Cummings moment how he reacts. I can't see Whyte offering much on last nights evidence

Wonder how many more fights before they all become PPV?

I'd pick Ortiz to beat Joshua.

Whyte late in 2015, Teper early in 2016, a notably durable fighter like Wach after that, then close the year with contender like Pulev.

Of course that's assuming he wins each preceding contest fairly handily.

Feb/March - Thompson

June - Chisora/Teper winner (if it happens)

September - Bryant Jennings

December - Wilder

I think Hearn has done a very good job of building up fights which don't necessarily live up to the bill. Or should I say putting bums on seats for these events.

But since Bakhtov, have we really seen an increase in quality opposition? Sprott, Gavern, Lumbano-Love are all top 100 journeymen, and Johnston was an ageing fighter who'd lost to anyone who's anyone.

Why aren't we starting to see fighters with winning records such as Lucas Browne, And Ruiz, Robert Helenius or even fighters who have experience but aren't pushing 40 like Chris Arreola, and Arnold Gjergjaj.

Granted it's difficult to find the right opposition, and not exactly complaining about the opposition that AJ has come against in the early stages of his pro career. But maybe it's time to scrutinise what an actual step up in opposition looks like. Still not that convinced that Whyte is a step up any more that it's another sidestep in middle ground fighters.

Mike Perez. His recent KO loss was him being caught clean and cold as he seemed extremely durable up until that fight. The other advantage of fighting Perez is that he is considerably worse in the second half of the fight which would give AJ a chance to do things at his own pace if it went on that long. Perez hasn't seemed the same since the Mago fight though and severely lacks ambition.

Dec - Whyte

Feb/Mar - Thompson

June/July - Jennings

Sept/Oct - Fury (assuming he loses to Wlad)

Dec - World Championship (presumably Povetkin)

Only issue is that Joshua has had regular injuries so we may not see four top-level opponents, any of the above could be removed and replaced with a "warm up" fight

Because every world champion ever has gone the distance at some point in their career. It's better to find out how he handles the distance before he steps in the ring with one of the two best heavyweights in the world.

With regards to opponents Teper is a great call. Oddly I think David Price would still be interesting

I can't believe that no one has mentioned "LETS GO CHAMP". Shannon Briggs, now that would be more than a good test In next 6 months IMO, Briggs is very tough, durable, can punch a bit, with plenty of experience

He needs to fight a few 6ft5+ HW's or he won't be fully prepared for Wlad. Maybe Wach plus he'd get rounds

Whyte, Teper, Haye, Stiverne, Wilder

Joshua won't be put anywhere near Wlad for a while. He just beat GARY CORNISH and people are talking Wladimir Klitschko within six fights. Give over. The lad only started boxing about five years ago, give him proper time to develop.

June: Erhan Teper
Sept: Derek Chisora
Dec: Mariuz Wach

Edit: Just noticed the Nordic Nightmare Robert Helenius is two fights into a comeback following a two year hiatus. I'd like to see that fight. He has a good chin and can wack.

I'd like to see him in with anyone that Wlad has faced, Povetkin aside.

Joshua needs to fight this guy.
