Two serious injuries that required surgery (shoulder) and time off (hand). He was a one armed fighter against Chisora.
Chisora battered him that night. That decision was a disgrace. It was beyond incompetent, corrupt more like.
No he didn't. I thought chisora won but it was fairly close and he definitely didn't 'batter' him

Healthy Helenius KO 7.
Unfortunately for you we have a thing called 'Youtube' where we can watch fights again. Helenius clearly not troubled in punching with both arms, he just got dominated by a guy who could take his power and put him under pressure.

Helenius is a straightforward win for any decent natural heavy.
I watched the fight live and I've watched the fight on youtube. If you can't watch that fight and see that he favors and has trouble with his right, I'd suggest you watch a little more boxing before making such asinine comments

Injury or not, Chisora was robbed.

The injury is what makes it important. Helenius may have gotten a gift at home, but he wouldn't have needed it had he been healthy.
Call it a make up call for cheating Del Boy's robbery win over Paul Butlin when he should have been DQ'd for biting.
It's easy enough to solve; let them fight again. Healthy Helenius still KO 7.

I liked Helenius at the time. Chisora is a classic thughead. Love to see a rematch and I would root for Helenius but none of it changes the fact that it was a robbery, injury or not.

I don't disagree it was a home town decision. I bring up the injury because that's the only reason it ever went to the cards.

"Chisora is a classic thughead"
He's much worse then they tell you. He had a long criminal record in Africa for armed robbery and assault. I had a link to this in the Zimbabwe newspaper but the link doesn't work anymore. The headline began "Top Zim-born boxer was a robber..." Maybe it can still be found someplace. He should have been permanently banned after spitting in non combatant Wladimir's face, and even before this fight he was shoving Helenius.

I think Helenius and Teper are both overrated right now by most fans. Teper got all this hype from cracking Price's china chin whilst demonstrating no real amount of skill or power. Helenius has dealt with injuries and fought only 2 European club fighters since 2013; his camp obviously believes that he is dimished, that's why they've matched him this way. I'm generally glad that Teper and Helenius are fighting, we will learn things about both of them, but I would caution observers not to overrate whoever comes out on top.

"I think Helenius and Teper are both overrated right now..."
Teper also easily beat Duhaupus just a few months ago, Wilder's next big opponent. Teper looked very good and very strong vs. Price. He just walked right through him and KO'd him very badly. This is a big fight. I hope that the viking looks great, tho personally I'd rather he fought a middle level guy first before jumping right into the top ten, because in two and a half years he's only fought 2 1/2 full rounds.

He didn't easily beat sh*t. That was a very competitive fight, and I have no idea why you're saying "Wilder's next big opponent," as though being Wilder's next opponent makes him any good. Eric Molina was Wilder's "last big opponent," and he's a lousy stiff that Arreola steamrolled in 1. Teper proved no real superiority over an opponent who is outside the top 25. If anything, that result tells us that Teper himself may belong outside the top 25.
x2x wrote:Teper looked very good and very strong vs. Price.
The hell he did. He looked like hot garbage against Price. Not even a single drop of skill whatsoever, arm-punching, completely lackadaisical. He fought like a pile of crap with no boxing training at all. Fortunately for Teper, you don't have to hit Price hard, often, or skillfully to knock him out.

I didn't see it. I'm going by the one sided point on the scorecards - 116-11 twice and 115-112.

I was being sarcastic. I think Wilder is a hype job.
Eric Molina was Wilder's "last big opponent," and he's a lousy stiff that Arreola steamrolled in 1.
And Molina had Wilder in trouble at one point, and had he persisted he might have KO'd him.
Teper proved no real superiority over an opponent who is outside the top 25. If anything, that result tells us that Teper himself may belong outside the top 25.

I
did see that one, and you're nuts. You're talking bs now. It was totally 100% one sided from the start. Teper just bulled his way through Price's attempt at an offense. Bulled his way in and knocked him cold.

Interesting argument. You seem to be saying that if Chisora is of poor moral character, that reflects positively on Helenius's boxing ability. I think you need to explain why.

I'm not sure how on earth you arrived at that conclusion by the quoted portion of my post...
I am actually saying Chisora's only accomplishment in boxing is losing by home town decision against a one armed fighter who required surgery and a year layoff after the bout. His moral character was brought up solely to regurgitate the fact that he is a knob head of the highest quality.

Wow. How much do Helenius tinted glasses cost?
Firstly Chisora has the compliments of being British and European champion.
He also beat Malik Scott who's a decent calibre.
He's also challenged for a world title.
What's exactly Helenius claim to fame?
Also calling him a nobhead???
He's actually matured to a decent human being. I thought the way he spoke about Ernie Draper after his retirement was classy.

So Chisora's accomplishments are beating a grossly overweight and shopworn Danny Williams before being shut out by a green Tyson Fury?
Helenius is also a European champion as well as holding various intercontinental trinkets, not that any of that means anything.
And yes, Chisora is a knobhead. And while it's wonderful to hear he had classy things to say about Ernie Draper, I think he's got to go a bit further than that to show he's matured at all. He's dirty in the ring and out of it, as his record proves. I'd love to see him in with a healthy Helenius.

Watched the Helenius-Chisora fight recently. He throws both hands so your injured fighter BS holds no weight with me.
Just looking forward to Teper beating him so he can go back to his inter-continental titles.
Also you can't judge a fighters character on his past. Unless you've met the man calling a fighter a ' nobhead' on hearsay and things you don't know the ins and outs of says more about your character than his.

He throws both hands because he's a fighter and that's what fighters do. He had no steam on his right because it was injured and he had surgery and a year off after fight.
As for Chisora's character, I guess you're right. The fact he bit Paul Butlin, slapped Vitali, spit on Wlad, said he wanted to kill David Haye, and assaulted his girlfriend just really goes to show how good of a man he is. A real role model

I did see it, and I've heard that before. I didn't include it since I don't know all the facts and wouldn't want to slander such a righteous man as Del Boy

Helenius' inactivity and injury definitely make him the underdog. Teper has been on a tear almost similar to Helenius' run in 2010.

To my surprise the bookies actually give Helenius the odds, you receive 1,50 back for every pound/euro/dollar you give for him as a winner and 2,50 if you do the same with Erkan Teper.

Neither is Teper, they are about equal to Deontay Wilder for example, not good, not bad, but nice competition.
