Supposedly that video was done 7 weeks ago and has been held on too. Only released as Leon agreed too it to show people what little understanding people have of depression.

Yes, I'm sure it will inspire sensible and well-informed debate on mental illness

So why didn't the promoter explain that in the original post?

I queried with Goodwin why he would even allow it to be put out there and the above statement is what he messaged me back.robster wrote:jaymitch81 wrote:Supposedly that video was done 7 weeks ago and has been held on too. Don't actually know who McCallum is and I can't even remember his first name after looking at him for 7 minutes. I bet he has some wonderfully tedious arguments with his missus. He's got that way or arguing that is best summed up by the word "childish". He also seems to have quite a peevish, spiteful side to him.
I wonder who the American guy is? I can remember that Canadian/ or American (?? apologies) bloke that came over to do "Toyson" Fury fights..... it's always a clever little marketing ploy to give things a little bit of pezzaz, imo.

He'd fit into the CS pretty well.

The American guy interviewing is Bret Hollywood who does all the MCing for Godwin promotions. He also does Pool; MMA and a host of other stuff. II believe he is a member on here. From memory he recently won Come dine with me where Alex Reed was a guest of his on his dinning night.

john has always been full of it, his grandad used to run him all over scotland to different clubs to make him the best ever but it didnt work. he doesnt have much power, can be easily put off his boxing and never had a quarter of the fights he claims.
Re: Heated head to head Leon McKenzie v John McCallum
Realistically one of them won't turn up
Re: Heated head to head Leon McKenzie v John McCallum
Why did he have so many amateur clubs

Re: Heated head to head Leon McKenzie v John McCallum
because he was a diva and wanted to be the star of any club he was at!! he really thought he was a superstar but in reality he managed a couple of junior titles and didnt even fight much as a senior. im also sure he got banned at one point too but i cant remember 100% but think he assaulted a team mate drunk and may have glassed him.Bleak wrote:Why did he have so many amateur clubs

Yep, thats me :-) and yes this head to head was part of a press conference we did several weeks ago. Its hard to know how these things are gonna go when you sit 2 guys in front of each other, but I can honestly say these guys just plain don't like each other. They spent quite a lot of time off camera getting into each others heads. Will be interesting to see who stays composed on the night... either way it should be a cracking fight.

He got kayod in the second round.
Re: Heated head to head Leon McKenzie v John McCallum
McCallum looked shocking in the 5 minutes or so it lasted. Swinging wildly and not looking particularly fit.
