Will be surprised if it's not Eubank Jnr, but will be more surprised if this works out.
Can't see Hearn and Eubank Snr working together well at all, I can see another situation the same as Frampton/McGuigan developing there.

Re: Matchroom's new signing
You do have a point re it being a pay per view but in reality Brook v Chaves is the chief support for the pay per viewsammy95 wrote:ste1983 wrote:Just because its chief support doesn't mean it won't be an awful one sided affair with Matchroom the big name of Eubank Jr alone would be enough for chief support slot. Wasn't the last Martin Murray fight chief support on the Leeds bill? Especially when in reality Brook v Chaves is chief support itself.sammy95 wrote:I tend to disagree with the above, if he is being labelled as chief support then I expect a good competitive fight for whoever the new signing is.
If it is Eubank Jnr, then I expect his WBA interim title to be involved somewhere. With the view to then go after Daniel Jacobs, as was initially planned for Macklin.
Monroe Jnr maybe?
I agree that could be the case on a standard Saturday night sky card a la Murray on the Leeds bill, although that was a 12 round WBA ranking fight against an opponent who was 31-6 and had gone 7 with Lemieux.
But if you look at the last few PPV's the undercard has always had top chief support fights. The most recent Brook-Gavin card being a prime example with Selby and Mitchell being in 50-50 world title fights.
I am not saying it will be a world rated opponent who we all rate as top 25-30 in the division because it is a shared PPV and the budget will therefore be lower. But, I do think it will be a decent scrap, and not an 8 round journeyman scrap.
.....it also has to usurp a European title fight as chief support, I know chief support isn't merited in this way but the point still stands.

I like your optimism but somehow doubt itwesshaw1985 wrote:Announcement due today?
I'm guessing -
Eubank Jr Vs. O'sullivan on Brook/Chaves in October.
Then -
Eubank Jr Vs. Heiland on Joshua/Whyte in December.

Eddie did get Heiland over for Macklin though...

Chris Eubank Jr with his new trainer Adam Booth
Re: Matchroom's new signing
I actually said knockover in October and November then decent fight in December on PPV.
Was close he will only fight October on Brook Chaves card.
