Postol looked stiff and dorky in the first round. He's really taken control though, he looks really good.

Re: Lucas Matthysse vs. Viktor Postol
I was going to say Postol was going to KO Matthysse before the start of tonight's fight but didn't. I've always been big on Postol.
Re: Lucas Matthysse vs. Viktor Postol
Lucas eye looked a bit fucked there at the end, hope he didn't tear something ...... totally out boxed, Postol can take a shot for sure
Re: Lucas Matthysse vs. Viktor Postol
To the word, Freddie said yeah we can get the KO, he is tiring badly, in fact I think he is ready to quit ............. cue the musicsucracristo wrote:great game plan from roach.

Wow
What a big disappointment Lucas looked lethargic, slower and showed no hunger.
And getting stopped by a guy with 11ko's and just staying in his knee counted out.
Safe to say lucas best days are done.
Odd ending.

Everyone saw tonight the reason Danny Garcia vacated.
Re: Lucas Matthysse vs. Viktor Postol
Somewhere around round 7, Matthysse staggered into the ropes, seemingly from a pretty subtle clash of heads. Seems like after that, Matthysse just shut down and Postol took over. Really hard to fathom the way Matthysse shut down and got dominated, but... the fight is in the books now. Postol has secured world class status for sure now. Possibly top 3 in his division.

The number of KO's he has is deceptive. You could see in his KO stoppage of Selcuk Aydin that he has been progressing immensely.kidbazooka1 wrote:Wow

Matthysse said he felt something pop in his eye. Hope this isn't the last we see of him.
Postol jumps to number two in my opinion. I know I've already said it, but I really want to see him and Crawford.

Re: Lucas Matthysse vs. Viktor Postol
Before tonight, Crawford was my clear number one. After tonight I'd make that fight 50/50. I've seen Postol several times before and have been impressed, but tonights fight was the deal maker.Baby Face Finster wrote:I will say it now that I think he beats Crawford.punchoutsb wrote:Matthysse said he felt something pop in his eye. Wow, you are one hell of a fair weather fan. You've been going on for months about how Mathysse would demolish Pacquiao and everyone else and fecking minutes after Postol stopped him he's suddenly done?kidbazooka1 wrote:Wow

How about giving Postol some credit instead? Mathysse looked like he always did. Postol just took his best, outboxed him and stopped him

Re: Lucas Matthysse vs. Viktor Postol
matthysse ran into that punch.
if you slow down the ali-liston "phantom punch" you can see that a well timed
right hand catching a guy rushing in doesn't have to look that devastating.
it's like when a head on collision at a very slow speed can total a car easily.
if he says he was worried about the eye then hopefully the eye will be ok,
but the shot he got hit with was no lucky punch. postol was a step ahead of
him and nailed him with it. if matthysse got up, he really had no chance of
winning the way things were going. hopefully he lived to fight another day.
