I Remember watching that, it was supposed to be quite a test for Herol but he just bamboozled Douglas all night and a sad ending to Douglas career.

Rod Douglas was a big hitter and a very good fighter.

Herol had a few God like performances; Kaylor was a great win - for a boxer as game as Kaylor to quit because he couldn't hit Herol is something - almost like Ray Leonard v Duran 2.

The Herol v Chris Johnson bout I watched through my fingers, fearing the worst but Bomber was amazing.

I'll be very cheeky and add the first 3 rounds of the Jackson bout; Herol boxed like a ATG until that missile landed and reminded us all he was human.

Funny I think of that fight as one of worst performances ever by a heavy weight champ ,foreman was unbelievably bad and Ali did nothing till the end

I'd watch that again. The right crosses weren't nothing, and neither were the body punches Ali somehow took.

Yeah, Ali took some really heavy punches, up and down. When you think about the tough men who Foreman haadwrecked with similar punches it really does show how very tough and strong minded Ali was; I imagine other men would have gone to the floor if they weren't knocked there. In retrospect, Ali took too much in that bout, in the Thomas Hauser biography on Ali I am sure Foreman said he landed the hardest punch he ever threw on Ali and was utterly amazed it hadn't folded him.

The old "Rope a Dope" trick worked beautiful.

A relatively new one, Inoue vs Narvaez. The Monster went up 2 divisions and absolutely demolished a true veteran who had never come close to being stopped, was sensational

x2, Douglas looked like he could've beaten any heavyweight in history that night.
No he didn't. That's a crock of shite.

He almost got sparked out by Tyson don't forget.

Mike was listless and slow of hand and foot that night, you could see from his ring walk all was not well, I remember Frank Bruno in commentary saying how lifeless he looked during the pre fight announcement.

Beating a demotivated Tyson, does not qualify you to beat 'anyone in history.'

Douglas fought out of his skin, no doubt, but that's a very hyperbolic exaggeration to say the least.

Jones Vs Hill - one of his very best performances.

Ali vs Cleveland Williams.

Foreman v Frazier 1 and 2. Utter annihilation.

Three that spring to mind.
