Froch has used a sports psychologist on a number of occasions.johnswan1 wrote:This must be so satisfying for Froch to read, particularly the bit about the sports psychologist and the fall out with Paddy Fitz.
George does need a new trainer but I don't think he'll ever be right mentally again.

I enjoyed that. Good luck to him, one big win and he's right back in there.

New trainer I'd say Abel Gomez as for opponent then Buglioni would be a good opponent to get back into thingswesshaw1985 wrote:who is in line to be Groves new trainer?

I think it works as a good work out for George to get him back on track, a good pay day for Buglioni and Fr@nk W@rren/allegedly get to host and show the event in London, where it will do good ticket sales...

If Markham wins the commonwealth then he will defend against Frank first .
I can't for the life of me see Groves fighting at domestic level again.
Probably a couple of overseas fighters brought in with rankings available.

Yes, and Groves goaded Froch over it in the build up to their second fight.magwitch wrote:Froch has used a sports psychologist on a number of occasions.johnswan1 wrote:This must be so satisfying for Froch to read, particularly the bit about the sports psychologist and the fall out with Paddy Fitz.

Re: Groves gives interview
I think one of the names mentioned was Froch's old trainer, Rob McCracken. That would be a great choice.

When I was first looking at this picture I didnt realise it had been photoshopped.
I thought, thats so weird he has a picture of Carl Froch with his belts, and another with him getting lamped by him.
Very funny.

I'm just relieved you didn't put Carl in the photo bare chested in front of Mrs Groves
Re: Groves gives interview
Is McCracken going to train any other pro's now Froch has called it a day?Taansend wrote:I think one of the names mentioned was Froch's old trainer, Rob McCracken. That would be a great choice.

Gomez you should get Froch to tweet that pic out, fornicating hilarious!
Re: Groves gives interview
No idea Sam. I just really rate McCracken as a trainer.samwbr wrote:Is McCracken going to train any other pro's now Froch has called it a day?Taansend wrote:I think one of the names mentioned was Froch's old trainer, Rob McCracken. That would be a great choice.
Re: Groves gives interview
Good interview.
I feel a bit of time away from the UK would do Groves good. As someone earlier in the thread mentioned, he has trained a few times at Big Bear and Abel Sanchez may be a good choice as his next trainer. That coupled with the fact that he'd get regular sparring with GGG could only bring him on in my view.
I always felt that the set up with Paddy Fitzpatrick was an odd one. He's a decent trainer but not world class and I agree that his advice in the corner for the Jack fight was questionable.

I got the impression that part of Paddys appeal was that Groves would be in charge as he fancied a change after Booth - it may be that he now realises he needs a trainer who wont take any shit ?SteveDow wrote:Good interview.

I think you're right that groves wanted to be like eubanks sr was with Ronnie Davis just someone to hold the pads and bucket rather than a teacherbripez wrote:I got the impression that part of Paddys appeal was that Groves would be in charge as he fancied a change after Booth - it may be that he now realises he needs a trainer who wont take any poo ?SteveDow wrote:Good interview.

Re: Groves gives interview
Possibly but any young fighter who hasn't fully developed is very naïve to think that they don't need a trainer who can give them good advice at crisis moments during a fight. Given Chris Eubank Jnr's tendency to ignore Ronnie Davies it'll be interesting to see how him and Booth gel in a pressure situation. I'd imagine the first thing Booth will demand is that Eubank Snr gets out of the corner during fights. I'm not sure there's room for him and Booth.bripez wrote:I got the impression that part of Paddys appeal was that Groves would be in charge as he fancied a change after Booth - it may be that he now realises he needs a trainer who wont take any poo ?SteveDow wrote:Good interview.

You're only physically allowed one person inside the ropes anyway aren't you? Can't see Adam playing second fiddle to some posturing...?SteveDow wrote:Possibly but any young fighter who hasn't fully developed is very naïve to think that they don't need a trainer who can give them good advice at crisis moments during a fight.
