Why is there a problem with a Manager doing the job he is employed to do on behalf of a fighter ?
Why should Frampton give him home advantage ?
Who sells the most tickets ?
If roles were reversed would the Quigg camp back down ?

I've moved between the two but never more than 55-45...
Like them both as fighters and believe both are genuine world class.
Frampton still won his last fight when many others would have wilted. He deserves great praise for that.
Quigg's win over Martinez was fantastic. But honestly he looked out of his depth in round one. He looked like he didn't belong in there. But my goodness how he turned it around...

Managers are paid to manage, not put obstacles in the way.
Because Frampton claims to be the better fighter holding the better belt, and it's not like he's fighting in Canada or Vegas is it,he'll have as many if not more fans than Quigg will anyway,if they offer enough money, take the fight, simple as that.

They're paid to get the best deal possible for their fighter, that's all McGuigan's doing.

Who cares who sells the most tickets? The fight will sell out 22k in the arena just by 'stubhub' eddie doing the usual. As you say Quigg doesnt sell that many tickets so what is the problem with fighting in Manchester? Is the fact its near Scotts house is that really going to make any difference?
I hate siding with Hearn I really do but they've offered offered them half the arena tickets, co promotion, there putting up the money , there givibg carl the bigger split etc what more can team frampton ask for?
I accept mcguigan is employed by carl to do his job but there is a thing called bad management. And IF carl finds himself getting beat in an afternoon pbc show somewhere in the desert instead of a box office fight in British then he has only himself and barry to blame.

Haven't Quiggs team said it has to happen in Manchester. Isn't that putting obstacles as much/if not more as Barry saying it shouldn't happen in Manchester?

I would love it if big fight negotiations were done open and publicly in front of a live audience.
Pacquiao v Mayweather
Brook v Khan
Frampton v Quigg

It would be more entertaining than some of the fights.

Agree with the sentiments, although I reckon Quigg will knock Frampton out

I think that Frampton would win with an easy UD. That is the beauty of this fight though, split opinions. It has to be made.

What % would Selby be after to defend against Warrington at Elland Road?

I think Frampton's last fight showed how he can be beaten, just got to make sure he stays down when he gets dropped.

I'm not talking about generally I meant for this fight. As I said if Eddie was left alone to be in control of the tickets (as he would love to be for an event this size) he would just 'stubhub it' and as soon as it's announced the thing would be sold out ie joshua-whyte etc That's why it's irrelevant in this fight whether Frampton can get 16k into a specially constructed venue in Belfast or not.
It's annoying I'm sounding more and more pro Hearn when I can't stand the fcuker that's how pathetic I think team frampton are being.

oh, okay then, I'll rephrase it
Who cares who sells the most tickets?
apart from Frampton, Quigg, Hearn, McGuigan, you mean?
or was it a rhetorical question?

But their not really saying anything wrong the WBA have refused to sanction the fight because quigg is only the regular champion I don't think it's unfair, Carl would have to use a voluntary defense, and he's expected to do it in quiggs back yard?

Really hope this fight gets made. As a layman fan I get the impression that both fighters would be up for it but think BM doesn't want to risk Frampton's reputation in what is increasingly looking a 50/50 (even if betting books had it priced as 4/9 Frampton at one stage).
What stuck in my mind was after Frampton's win against Gonzalez he was talking about moving up to FeatherW in the post fight interviews and gave weight issues as reason for his lacklustre performance that night.
For what it's worth, like both fighters a lot, both as people and boxers, I am leaning ever so slightly towards Quigg now.

How so? From what i can gather, they are mainly just saying that Quigg doesn't have a real title, which we on here all agree and also that he can't sell tickets which he can't, especially in comparison to Frampton.
In the interviews I've seen Frampton is really condescending towards Quigg, as are the Mcguigans. They may have left fighting Scott too late, Scott's career look like its on an upward trajectory compared to Frampton's who looked bad in his last fight

I haven't seen many interviews so can't comment on that.
That's a bit of an exaggeration. Quigg has had one recognised win against a guy who lost twice to munroe (being fair to both fifhtwrs here!) and twice to Frampton . Frampton didn't look great but still won and that win is about par with quiggs last few before martinez

Time will tell, maybe Frampton's last struggle was a one off.
I think Quigg is coming on well, good power, strong chin, decent skills, and under-rated partly because of the "WBA Regular" belt he holds, or whatever they call it.

Hopefully it will, would be a travesty if they don't face off.
Quigg is coming on, i just thought the comment exaggerated their last fights!

I interviewed Michael Gomez and asked him about "home advantage" - his response was "when the lights go down theres only 2 people in the ring and Alex Arthur realised all the people in scotland shouting and screaming couldnt help him in the ring"

Well that's it then isn't it? Unless Bazza suddenly
Makes an embarrassing u-turn he's basically fecked the fight off - cheers Barry
The fight makes Zero sense out of Manchester due to loss of revenues from smaller venues - it's a pathetic excuse to block the fight. Frampton would probably have more fans then Quigg in the fcking arena anyway.
The whole valid title crap they keep spouting is also pisssing me off- that went out of the window when Scott banged Martinez out in 2.
I have to think now they don't fancy the fight.
It doesn't say that anywhere. They're still negotiating for the fight, the venue is one of the things up for discussion, doing it at the O2 would be no different revenue wise to Manchester, Hearn himself has admitted that, it just isn't available when they want it. They'll probably end up backing down anyway for a bigger split of the purse.
Both sides are just playing games to try and get the best deal possible, Hearn talking about splitting the MEN in half is just him trying to get some support for Quigg in the arena, if they didn't Frampton would have most of the support from the crowd, McGuigan talking about a neutral venue and other options, they're just negotiating tactics, I don't see the need to read so much into them.
Quigg isn't world champion, he could knock out King effing Kong with one punch and he wouldn't be unless he beats Rigo, beating Martinez proved that he's a world class fighter, didn't make him a world champion though, it's a fake, plastic title, no better than the WBU, IBO, WBF and all the others knocking about.
I take your point about the belt but the fact is Carl only won it off Martinez who then got banged in 2 by Quigg. Years before that the same Martinez was easily beaten twice by Rendal Monroe... Yes, Frampton has the slightly better CV overall but it's not like he is the divisional kingpin he is just a belt holder who won it off a guy Quigg also beat but in more devastating fashion. The valid title rubbish is not a reason for the fight not to happen.
Carl Froch was only WBA regular champion but that didn't stop him having huge fights against Kessler etc
Yes, they seem to be negotiating but they've been doing this on and off for a few years now.
I am usually a massive critic of Hearn and have been pro team Frampton in this saga but I'm now unable to find a fault in the way fast Eddie has been trying to handle this fight.
The McGuigans are coming up with ridiculous demands about neutral venues as if going to Manchester for them is the equivalent of Tyszu coming over to face Hatton at 2am even though he was an elite name and divisional boss.
They're also bringing no money to the table
And if as I now fear they don't take the fight no blame should be attached to Hearn or Quigg
Terrible example - Carl was IBF champ and won the WBA regular trinket from Kessler...

No - they've said in reality it has to happen in Manchester if it happens before May 2016, as there isn't another venue big enough available before then.

Mate it's hardly a terrible example. So I got it the wrong way round about who came in with the regular belt. It works the same way Froch-Kessler 2 was still a 'unification' fight for the exact same belts that frampton and scott hold today.
