Jo jo Dan was the mandatory,so had no choice,Gavin, yes that was a poor choice, but Chaves,i think that's reasonable to be honest
Taken in isolation Chaves is a reasonable opponent. But after Brook's last 2 defences, I'd prefer to see a good opponent rather than a reasonable one

The difference is, Brook, whilst not exactly fighting a who's who of welterweights in the last year, has recovered from a career threatening injury, and has fought whoever has been put in front of him. You think he wouldn't want to fight the likes of Mayweather? He'd love it just as much as Khan would but you don't hear him bleating on about it. What you do hear is him desperate for the chance to face Amir Khan as he genuinely believes he wins. Khan comes out with bullshit about Brook 'not proving himself', even though he's a legitimate world champion, because he doesn't want to face him.
Khan baffles me - he's technically a fantastic fighter but he has a huge reluctance to get in with Brook, and seems to think that a couple of bang average wins (yes - better than Brook's last 3 fighters for sure) means he should be guaranteed a shot at Mayweather. It's BS - he's an arrogant knob. I think he does cause all sorts of problems for Mayweather and Pacquiao but he doesn't deserve a shot at them any more than Kell Brook. The past is irrelevant to a certain degree; Amir has a far better record than Brook, but Brook is the champion at the moment, let's not forget that. Khan lost his when he did his famous baby giraffe routine against Danny Garcia. I'd say actually that Khan is the one who needs to prove himself, rather than Brook. Brook took all sorts of criticism after the first Carson Jones fight, rightly so, so he got back in and did the job properly. I wonder when Amir will be rematching any of his victors?
