He's already shown far more than enough to drub them and I think a step up should come soon, or at least another bout with a durable Sherman Williams type who can give him rounds.

By the way, I'm sure there will be plenty of hype from Parker's team about Martz's size, but take a look at the 5'10" journeyman who stopped him in 3 minutes and 21 seconds earlier this year:

A bit of trivia - Young is the one flaw on Kovalev's record, their fight was a technical draw (looks good if you avoid the small print).

Young is a good journeyman to be fair.

A bit disappointed in the choice of opponents however I read (sorry can't find the link) that Kevin Barry plans to have Parker fighting again in April and June.Hopefully those fights will see more recognised "names",it'd be good to see a Dimitrenko or a Price sort of opponent.

Joe Parker's trainer Kevin Barry feels Tyson Fury is likely to concentrate on just one of the many belts he won in beating Wlad - which could open opportunities for others. Including of course Joe.

"There is no way that Tyson Fury with the exciting lucrative fights that are in the UK for him at the moment will keep all those belts. I think that over the next couple of months he will walk away from a couple of those belts so I think what's going to happen, the good thing for our camp and Joseph Parker is that some of these belts are going to be up for grabs very very soon."

Parkers defense is untested.

He has good movement and speed but he's been fighting
B grade fighters and some tomato cans just looking
for a pay day.

Kevin Barry may well be right. The IBF belt may become vacant very shortly >>>

http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id...eads-purse-bid

Tyson Fury is not going to have long to savor his upset victory against Wladimir Klitschko.

In addition to claiming the lineal world title, Fury also claimed Klitschko's 3 major sanctioning organization belts, and ownership of those belts comes with mandatory defense obligations.

Fury was ordered by the IBF on Monday to next face Vyacheslav "Czar" Glazkov, and the camps were given 30 days to make a deal or a purse bid would be ordered. However, on Tuesday, Main Events promoter Kathy Duva, who represents Glazkov, informed the IBF that they were unwilling to participate in negotiations with Fury promoter Mick Hennessy and requested an immediate purse bid, which is allowable under IBF rules - although the fight is unlikely to happen.

Parker beat Daniel Martz inside 2 minutes courtesy of a huge right hand.

That fight was a non-event and all the betting was on a very early KO to Parker, who quickly warmed to that task and kept the punters happy.

Next up is another limited heavy, Jason Bergman on 23rd January 2016 in Samoa. Bergman's last 2 fights were 6 rounders, in which he defeated opposition with poor records.

No doubt Joseph will hasten Jason out of the ring in pretty quick time.

What a joke fancy picking that poor bloke to be a punching bag for what was it 2 minute's if they keep going down this path it will do Parker more
harm then good I'm half blind and i'v got no match maker or manager's licence but I could have picked some-one closer to home [I could have saved Duco on air fare's  ] or atleast got some-one who knew how to throw a jab or would that have been to dangerous :?? Bob Sheridan should stay
home it was almost annoying his one-sided bias opinion calling of the fight's tell it like it is we are all not clueless mug's I was waiting for Bob to tell
us that Parkers opponent had no right getting on the plane no right sharing the same ring but not Bob he's more worried about his next holiday to
the South Pacific. :DD

To be quite honest, Col Bob Sheridan is a disgrace. His shameless promotion of the 'promoters boy' is beyond a joke now.

The main event should have been Jeff Horn not Parker.

Jeff is willing to fight anyone. Parker is clearly being protected which means "they" know hes another David Price who wil
be knocked out against quality opponents.

Although you could say both fighters are work in progress, It would more likely be Parker more so then Horn.

IBF STRIPS FURY; GLAZKOV-MARTIN PURSE BID ON FOR DECEMBER 18TH
By Scott Shaffer

The IBF has declared the heavyweight title vacant and ordered Vyacheslav Glazkov to fight Charles Martin for the vacant title.Tyson Fury had just won the world championship from Wladimir Klitschko last week, but had promised Klitschko an immediate rematch, which is a violation of IBF rules. Presumably Fury-Klitschko II will go ahead with the WBO and WBA championships at stake. As soon as Fury was stripped, Martin's promoter requested an immediate purse bid and the IBF complied, scheduling Glazkov and Martin for a December 18th purse bid in New Jersey. Martin was scheduled to fight Dominic Brezeale this weekend on NBC, but Martin quickly pulled out as soon as the opportunity to fight for the IBF title arose.

According to Patrick English, Glazkov's attorney, the decision to strip Fury was based on the way mandatory defenses are handled in cases of unified champions. "There is a well-established rotation system among the ratings organizations when there is a unified champion," wrote English. "When Klitschko fought Fury, it was after Klitschko’s mandatory with Glazkov would have otherwise been due (it was due in August). Following the rotation system, Glazkov stood aside and without any protest watched the Klitschko/Fury bout be scheduled, then postponed, and then rescheduled - all during the period when it would otherwise be his turn to fight the mandatory for the [IBF] heavyweight title. He stood aside because of the rotation system, which made it the turn of the WBA/WBO to enforce their mandatories. However, everyone knew going into the Klitschko/Fury fight that it was Glazkov’s turn next."

Parker camp says Briggs, Browne, Glazkov, Arreola, Wach, Teper, de Mori turned down offers.
WBO #5, IBF #10, WBC #11, WBA #12 Joseph Parker (17-0, 15 KOs) scored a sensational KO victory in round one over Daniel Martz (14-3-1, 11 KOs) on Saturday in Hamilton, New Zealand which was his fifth victory in 2015. Other wins included KOs over former world rated Kali Meehan and Bowie Tupou.

Stuart Duncan who is the matchmaker for Parker’s promoter, Duco Events has talked to Fightnews.com® to say there have been several world rated heavyweights who have rejected very good offers to travel to New Zealand and clash with the 23-year-old Parker. “Shannon Briggs rejected a substantial offer to fight Joseph Parker,” Duncan said. “We also made a good offer to current IBF #1 Glazkov for a bout with Parker, before he was the IBF mandatory, that was rejected.”

“We have made substantial offers to the management of Chris Arreola, Mariusz Wach, Erkan Teper, Mark de Mori and Solomon Haumono. All offers were rejected. There was a four-fight million dollar offer made to the management of Lucas Browne that included a bout with Parker that was rejected. Edmond Gerber was given a very good offer that was rejected. Arnold Gjerjaj who is 29-0 and European champion – rejected a very good offer to fight Parker.”

Jason Bergman (25-11-2, 16 KOs) will be Parker’s next opponent when they clash over twelve rounds at the Faleata Sports Complex, Apia on January 23rd.

Three fights ago Bergman was stopped in two, and has won two six rounders since.

Bergman will be lucky to see out three rounds, but outside the ring should enjoy his Samoan stint.
