I'm hoping to meet Orlando Cruz next.

I met Emile Griffith once at the Hall of Fame in the gents; but all he did was look at my d1ck at the urinal.... Laugh, and walk off

I went to the Calzaghe vs Hopkins fight in Vegas. Stayed at the mirage hotel. Remember typing boxing gym into google maps. Came up with mayweather gym so me and my dad went. Minute i seen the chinatown layout i knew it was mayweathers gym we went in and met roger mayweather, ishe smith , juan guzman, leonard elerbe. Talked to roger because im a huge floyd fan so he gave him a call spoke to floyd for 2 minutes then as i was only 16 and did amateur boxing in scotland i got to train there for 5 days for free have videos on youtube doung pad work in the ring with roger which was absolutly brilliant at the time. Roger offerd my dad €10.000 bet hopkins beats calzaghe haha i told my dad to take it. He didnt. On the last day as we were leaving roger said theres a silver medalist coming in to train said hes from uk cant remember his name. As i left a black limo appeard and out came amir khan he shook our hands thinking we were boxers there got a picture too which was great. At this time my dad was in a rush but turns out if i stayed i could have seen roger training him and floyd appeared shortly afterwards, gutted!! Met calzaghe, hopkins, allegedly, enzo calzaghe also which i got signatures and pictures with them all which is very cool. Calzaghe behind his public workout was very snoby . Best out them all was roger and khan.

Lennox Lewis - On the eve of him fighting Razor Ruddock in Brixton when he got mobbed by a few people. Shook his hand & told him to make sure he does a number on Razor to which he promised he would - very nice guy.

Pat Barrett - Not actually met him as such, but he's from Manchester & I used to see him out in clubs etc a lot back in the 90s. He seemed a bit arrogant & up himself, especially with his 'boys' around him.

Frank Bruno - Got his autograph once when I saw him in Hornchurch in 1993 when he was out with his wife & daughters - also really nice & personable guy.

Amir Khan - Top man to be fair to him. He seems really nice & always has time for fans & the selfie brigade.

Ricky Hatton - Similar to Amir Khan. Seems to take mobbing & fans in his stride. Always seems happy to oblige for autographs & photographs.

I've met Joe Calzaghe a few times, and served him a drink when I was working as a bartender about 15 years ago. He had a pineapple Bacardi Breezer, not the most macho of drinks

Amir Khan. Chatted with his dad for a while - absolute gent.
Tyson Fury. Feck he is big!
Eamon Magee. Great guy to talk to.
Paul McCloskey. Quiet nice guy.
Rigondeaux. Got his autograph at the World Ams in Belfast. No English but all the Cuban guys were friendly. Felix Savon was there had this intimidating presence.
Marcos Villasana, shared the van that took him and his entourage to his title fight with Paul Hodkinson after blagging my way to the fight.
Takaloo. After he beat Eamon Magee, seemed a nice guy.
Jim Rock. I unintentionally said something that offended him. Thought he was going to rip me a new one. Scary dude.

Met a lot of Manchester fighters, with the biggest being Hatton and Khan, Khan was very polite, got a few pics with him. Nice guy, Hatton was very talkative, funny a swore Like a trooper, nice guy. I think fighters a much more approachable than most other sportsmen. Also bumped into Robin Reed who was build like a brick shite house, no idea how he made 168.

Some excellent boxers there, I always imagined that Eammon Magee would be hard work, he looked so mardy.

Used to go to the late Camacho Sr home/training camp when he lived in south Florida about the time of the Rosario fight, really friendly guy, had a basketball court outside his house and came out after practice and shot hoops with us, gave everybody an autographed picture, he was sparring with Freddy Pendleton at the time. Hector Jr was there too, just a little boy

I forgot that I met Camacho Sr again about 20 years later at Florida Golden Gloves Tournament where both our sons were fighting and he said he remembered me but I doubt it

I have met several but the best story was being young in 1981
and Leon Spinks walked up on a group of us smoking a joint. He asked for a hit
and then proceeded to get pissed when we only had one.
He left and came back with a baggy full of weed and told us to buy some papers.
Leon chilled with us for several hours. 8)

:TU: that's a good one; I had read that Leon had a heart of gold and liked a night out. Apparently one night he'd gone out with a crowd, payed for everything all night and the horrible fuckers robbed him, taking even his false teeth - what a night and what a bunch of pudenda.

Johnny Nelson - was a great guy, very chatty and friendly and was speaking to him for a good 15 mins at the Froch v Rybacki fight a few years back.

John Conteh - very quiet but seemed a really nice fella and happily posed for a photo.

Ricky Hatton - was in a bit of a rush on the way back to the changing rooms after one of his fighters had fought on a small hall card at Liverpool Olympia but again seemed a nice guy and happily posed for a photo.

I love getting to hear about what Hatton, Calzaghe, and the European fighters are like in person. Hatton always seemed transparent, just a fun good hearted guy. Calzaghe was a harder one to figure out.

Lennox Lewis is also one I'd love to meet.

I was with some mates and saw Lennox Lewis after he fought Dan Gardner at Sheffield, he seemed chilled out though his trainer Harold Knight was giving me the evil eye, I was a bit intimidated as I'd seen Knight box Kenny Baysmore a few years earlier.

After Jimmy Young won a close decision over Jeff Simms, I went up to shake Young's hand. Jimmy was friendly, and we shook hands but his trainer, knowing that Jimmy was spent yelled at me: "Get the hell out of here, Honkie!" He didn't like me too well. :oo
