Just seemed really not-arsed about the weight-making thing. Said he'd got an injury and couldn't train properly for 2 weeks, couldn't do the running. then it came out something about he's had a wedding or something 3-4 weeks ago. Just didn't add up at all and his overall nonchalance just came across really unprofessional. I can clearly see now why this guy's career has not got going, he's just not taking it seriously at all.

They have made others so with arnfield fighting blackwell they sud make cello randa doran. rander and arnfield were due to meet.

I have just spoken to the camp, and he got married recently. Now that affected training, but they were all confident that the running would bring the weight down...then he did his calf and it was a nightmare.

As for how Tom came across, I have no idea, but i am guessing it wasn't well from the comments. All i can say there is that Tom was always a nightmare to interview as he is a bad talker, although he is actually a really nice fella. He may well have just done a really shitty interview. That won't mean much to anyone who is seeing him for the first time, but they are the genuine thoughts of a guy who did more work with him than anyone else during his first run...

Doran shouldn't get another eliminator IMO. I'd rather see Renda against Lewis Taylor, Tommy Langford or Adam Etches.

The board have been making a fair few eliminators lately which is good. But by winning one doesn't guarantee a title shot. So imo make 2 then winner's sud meet in final eliminator. Some good names their to chose from

It was obvious he didnt want to answer the questions really, he looked very uncomfortable and tried his best to just pass it off. his opponent chose to still take the fight though. he would have had the option to walk away or probably fight someone else.

Genuine question. Was there surprise on the faces of everyone at the weigh in when he was over? Do we know he didn't contact promoter / opponent prior to Friday or are we assuming he didnt.

I didn't see the interview but have to echo what others have said. Out of the ring Tom is a nice lad, he makes a 60-70 mile trip to attend our amateur shows and always has photos with the kids etc... He isnt your larger than life confident type. He usually arrives at amateur shows with his dad as appose to a group of lads. The team should've known the weight issue would've been raised, and maybe he needs some media training!

Who organises a wedding 3-4 weeks before the most important fight of your career? Ok even if the wedding was planned long before, why not just have a one day/night blowout where you eat cake and get pissed then get back to a 'training diet'. It's not hard to be dedicated if you actually want to make something of yourself.

I'd love him to prove that wrong, but he seems to not really have that professionalism or hunger you need.

Bellend (Bellew) said he'd beat Blackwell, I think he'd have a punchers chance vs Blackwell at best. Any sort of length fight and Blackwell would just grind him down due to better training/attitude/heart etc.

Wedding was Oct 10th I think, and like you say will have been organised long before the fight was made.

Dissapointed he's come over this way. Hopefully be kick up arse he needs!

He was asked a direct question and didnt respond with an answer to it regarding contacting the promoter. He babbled on about other fights of his being pulled. No way wud smith kept cutting weight if he knew doran was coming in that heavy prior to the fight.
Im not saying his a bad lad or anything like that just that his been unprofessional and cud of apologised.

Imo the key to bellew opinion was the fact doran is managed by dave coldwell who trains bellew.
