I was just thinking of Watson v Eubank, would loved to have seen Michael beat Eubank and see how his career would have gone from there. Im sure he would have had some good fights after that one including a rematch with Benn.

Clay vs Cooper 1. If he'd landed that hook ten seconds earlier, or there hadn't been any of the glove shenanigans between rounds.
Clay would've probably still won the return as he did though.

Would clay have gone on to fight Liston had he beaten cooper, though? Cos if he did......

good pick.how different his life would off been.
Lets be honest it should of been stopped in rd 1 in McClellan's favour. Either way if got stopped earlier than it did even in Benn's favour I still think McClellan would of gone on and been an absolute world beater. His ferocity was unbelievable.

I understand, but the way I look at this and similar fights is that when they are this good the result, what a bunch of judges say, cease to matter. The beauty is in the fight itself.

He freely admitted he wanted no part of Sonny Liston.

Who did he avoid then?
Prime Williams/Margarito/Pacquiao and all of the Welters he could have faced instead of Berto.

To be honest, I think that damage was done well before then.
Gerald was blinking profusely from earlier on in the fight, but we didn't know why at the time.

But let's keep this on topic other than the ones mentioned - Holyfield v Valuev. It may have prolonged his career which would have been a bad thing but you couldn't help but be pleased for him if he had got the decision he deserved.

Not very different, if Foster had let it continue Groves would have been stopped either that round or the next and we'd never have seen him getting sparked at Wembley.
In front of 80,000 people no less.

One of the most forgettable fights ever. So much so, I'd literally forgot about it.

I have no idea what would have happened (no one does) but I hate the fact that we didn't get a chance to find out where the fight was going that night.

Stanley Ketchel v Jack Johnson.
I love Johnson but how mad would it have been for Ketchel to have kept him down (I know they had the gentlemens agreement).

It was a shame for Froch really, because had the ref let it go on another 10 seconds, I think he'd have hammered him into submission. Froch got a raw deal, people acted like he'd stopped the fight himself.
Having said that, he'd have missed out on a massive payday, not to mention the pleasure of knocking Groves out in front of 80,000 at Wembley, apparently.

Agree. I had to fight Froch's corner left right and centre in that aftermath. His post fight interview was poor but he'd just been in a barnstormer and took some incredible punishment. Still, the worst Froch survived the best of Groves IMO.

I'd love to reverse the Naseem Hamed vs Marco Antonio Barerra fight. Had he won that he would have gone on to box Eric Morales and what a pair of scalps that would have been. Sadly, the Barrera fight came about 5 years to late for Naz, who I think would have taken him out had they met when he was in his prime.
