DeGale seems a very durable sort to me. Has he been dropped? I don't really remember him even being wobbled.

Got the feeling against Dirrell that he was fighting cautiously because he was ahead BUT gave up too much and almost lost it...

I asked about Degale and whether he has even been hurt yet, don't think anyone can recall. If he is as tough as he seems I would be very interested to see how he fares against GGG. I think Degale might have the dig to finally get GGG's respect.

I remember him being wobbled when he won the european title against Wilczewski.

I think it was a draw on one card and he had a few torrid spells on the ropes.

I think being on the ropes too much was criticized a lot by onlookers - but later he explained his knee was the problem and it was affecting his mobility, and since he had an op on it everything has improved for him.

I was really disappointed with the Dirrell performance. On paper going into the fight it was really competitive but after getting the knockdown and winning the first few rounds he started coasting too much and allowed Dirrell back into it. Given the quality of opponent, being on foreign soil and the magnitude of a world title being on the line I felt he seemed still too prone to have flat spots and being unable to really step on the gas when he had to. I would not be surprised to see him outworked by somebody like Jack or even Groves. It was great getting the win against Dirrell but I'm not sure the version he beat was the same as the guy from a few years ago. It was five years since Dirrell had faced a world level opponent. You just never get the feeling with DeGale after a twelve round fight that he has given everything.

I'm pretty sure in the post fight interview DeGale explained that his wobble was caused by his eardrum being perforated by a punch. He looked fooked if I remember correctly but its the only time I remember him looking hurt in a fight.

If Bute does well early, his confidence will rise and it'll be a difficult night for Chunky, as Bute can be a very good boxer. Is that going to happen? No. DeGale by stoppage.

Went for DeGale stoppage. DeGale is the best SMW in the world now Ward has gone to 175 and Bute is nowhere near what he was. Closest I can see is Chunky winning 9 rounds to 3. Dirrell was a tougher fight imo.

Anyone know what time this might be on in Germany? Thinking of trying to catch it after the Fury fight...

cant see Bute winning but I hope he hangs in there and gives DeGale a scrap, I cannot stand DeGale...

Bute looked back to his usual self against Di Luisa but that was first time in years and against a totally outclassed opponent,still im glad he's coming in off a good KO win,seeing as his confidence is in bits since the Froch demolision but i still think DeGale has too much for him in every department

I think DeGale will stop Bute pretty early,round about the halfway stage,James does hit hard and had no problem finishing Periban and Gonzalez early,plus he decked Dirrell early,i dont think Lucian will be able to avoid DeGale's sharp accurate combinations

DeGale stoppage in the second half of the fight. Have doubts about Bute's chin.

According to the poll DeGale is going to win by stoppage, 10/11 with Paddy Power.
With DeGale by decision 2nd most popular, 6/4 with Paddy Power.

Yeah I've got that with Klit KO rounds 1-6 @ 19/1. Just being realistic with Fury but as a big DeGale fan i'm giving myself something to fall back on if he loses.

I don't hold Degale in very high regard, having seen him struggle with a number of average opponents. A win over any Dirrell isn't that meaningful, doesn't change anything. I think Bute has by far the better arsenal, and if he can dredge up some of the old form I would expect him to command the fight and win a decision.

Good price for Bute - Degale is the deserved favourite but not 80-20. Especially given that it's two fast counterpunchers and neither is at home.

My mistake - sorry. Had assumed it was US. Then 4-1 is very good odds for a Bute bet, even though I think Degale will take it.

The Bute of about 5 years ago, quite possibly.

The current iteration, in my opinion tight as a drum at 168lbs and clearly gunshy post-Froch, i don't think so.

I expect both men will probably spend quite a lot of time feinting and basically looking at each other rather than punching.

Think Bute could be a very live dog in this one, He thrives on home advantage, and JD has that worrying habit of switching off and coasting ....if he doesn't get Bute out of there early, this could be a very difficult one.

Though I'm really hoping DeGale switches on the style for a sensational win, but I don't think it's as straightforward as a lot of people seem to think.
