Bellew is a a fine example of how a barely british title level fighter can use his gob to make money. He shoulda been laughed off when he gave it the bigun before the adonis fight, then fought like a bullied schoolboy. Hope he doesnt get another payday like this,cos lets face it if haye does fight again it will generate money as the casuals are gullible

Bellew wouldn't lay a glove on Hayes, would make the Harrison fight look like the Thriller in Manila

Luckily for Bellew he can talk lots about fighting Haye knowing full well the fight isn't happening, if Haye comes back it won't be to fight domestic guys at cruiser.

Not sure how he can be considered number 1 in the country either when Afolabi has been fighting at a much higher level.

I'd love to see him back as a cruiser. It's still his natural and best weight, and he's not handicapped into hit-and-run tactics there. He has a heavyweight's height with an excellent reach, but he's not built for heavy. I always appreciated his ability, but I didn't like his attitude until he was forced to rethink his approach after Thompson beat him. For a few years after that, I was a big fan. Unless there's a guaranteed Klitschko rematch at the end of it, there's no point in another heavyweight run. Because I still think that he beats everyone else at heavy on his best night, so it's a closed book for me. Whereas as cruiser, no-one could touch him.

with the Haye tweet and Bellew tweet, does this mean we are leaning more toward the name on the Joshua/Whyte undercard being him?

I don't know if anyone else has said it, (apologies if they have) but I cannot see Haye 'safely' making 14'4 or 200lbs by December.

He's been walking around for a long time bloated and anywhere around 17stone. He''s held that weight for a couple of years....not a few months. He's also the wrong end of 30 which makes a huge difference with weight. He hasnt been living like Bernard Hopkins.
Can he strip himself to cruiser? Yes. Can he do it safely? No. If he did lose it, he would be weak.

If he is making a comeback it would need to be at heavy for a few fights at least.

Haye has since tweeted saying he has had offers off bellew, rogie, malik scott and mark demori for his comeback victim.

He's lost some muscle in that time too though and he was never really a heavyweight. If he stripped the fat off I think he'd be comfortable at cruiserweight, see it more the other way that to fight at heavyweight he'd need to bulk up, which won't be easy at 35.

If he's interested in the big money fights its pointless him going to cruiser, he could get big crowds and money fighting guys like adamek and cunningham which would essentially be a continuation of his cruiser weight legacy anyway even if fought at heavy weight if you catch my drift.

I'd still pick Haye over AJ personally. Too many unknowns over AJ so far, we know Haye has a decent chin from the Valuev and Klitschko fights and can whack. Haye would be a massive, massive step up for AJ.

Yes I agree, although AJ does hit very hard so it only takes one punch. But I think Haye's speed and power would trouble AJ, whose chin has yet to be tested.

If Haye ever returns it will be at heavy as that's where the money is.
Someone like Malik Scott would be ideal as it is a fight he can win in his sleep but would also see him get a ranking with the WBC and a potential payday against Wilder in the states or Povetkin in Russia, as he has shown in the past he doesn't mind travelling.

Bellew can f**k off, he doesn't even belong in this conversation.
