you are full of real bad boxing analysis
and congrats for finding a link to someone else who agrees with you in the media.
that really proves you're right. it's not like people in the media are full of wrong opinons
on everything every day. in this case, look at many of the best punches cotto has landed
in his career and you will see they were landed backing away and to the sides. it doesn't
matter who thinks otherwise. that is reality.
and this "disagree with me and you know zero about boxing" garbage is childish

Cotto is better fighting backing up than Canelo is or will ever be. But somehow the inaccurate statement about Cotto is some kind of evidence? Nah that's just some more bias bullshit. Let's revisit this thread after the kid gets schooled again. No worries, glad dummies are going to lose a lot of money.

I agree with Diddy, Cotto is living from his past glory, and once he's made going backwards, it will be curtains with him.
There's a reason Cotto's such an underdog, and Canelo might just do a number on him.

But but but he's great going backwards against 140 and 147 lb guys!!

I didnt think he would beat Dirrell but it doesnt mean I'm "full of bad analysis". Stop it. I'm sure if you looked deeper into a much larger sample of posts you would see that but whatever. I didnt think he would dominate DeGale as you implied, hence my response.

I can't see an argument with this. I mean, it was all over the place, even in mainstream media I was reading about it, which is very unusual for boxing. Many people were convinced, myself included I have to admit, that Manny was really going to bring it and that even if he lost, it was going to be some epic moment of truth.
Yeah uhh.....yeah.

I don't want to say I told you so but I told you so.
I thought May-Pac would be exactly what it was.
Why Cotto-Canelo is getting more hype than Wlad-Fury is fooking mind boggling to me.
Cotto and Canelo have lost Big recently. Wlad and Fury haven't, AND they're Heavyweights !

Most hyped lately was Rousey until Holly Holm schooled her and destroyed the one dimensional Rousey.
~ ~ ~~
Canelo should beat Cotto , Canelo is bigger and younger , Cotto is more skilled but smaller .
Variables are the usual things , injuries , how training camp went , game plan , adaptability to opponents style , desire .
In a war of attrition Canelo should win , Round 10 TKO
This could very well be Cotto's last fight .

I think this will be a good fight. I'm not sure what Cotto and Alvarez having lost has to do with it, frankly. They bring styles that will make a good contest, I believe.
Not that long ago, I would have favoured Cotto. I'm not entirely sure that's changed for me, if I'm being honest.
As to why it's being more hyped than Fury and Klitschko, particularly in the U.S., I don't think IT'S all that much of a mystery, really.

what? the link is right there. the whole point of that thread was that you saw no reason
why that oddsmakers had that as an even fight, because degale would have to knock
out dirrell to win and he wouldn't be able to find him. half the shots cotto landed on
martinez and geale were backing up and to the sides and none of the knockdown were
coming forward. they came off counters. now you pivot to "well he was a good counter
puncher at 140 and 147 but not anymore". cotto is going to be countering and going side
to side all night vs canelo, same as he does every fight. i think it will be close and am not
sure who will win it, but this "cotto can't fight backing up" is complete crap, because he is
one of the best in boxing at countering and changing directions, and alvarez is much worse
backing up. cotto hits more than hard enough and is more than accurate enough to back up
alvarez and he will land more than alvarez, and will probably have more gas in the tank in
the late rounds if it goes there. the only thing i'm not sure about is alvarez's strength and
aggressiveness the first half. even if he doesn't catch cotto with clean shots he could win
rounds off that.

I don't give a crap what Cotto did against a corpse and a drained broken down average fighter. Those fights were jokes.
Watch what happens tonight. Against a real 154 lb guy in his prime.
Degale is better than I thought.

By the way when the hell did Sergio back Cotto up ? He could barely walk. And Geale looked like a dead man getting inside the ropes.

diddy wrote:Canelo is gonna win this fight. Easily. I mean ridiculously easily. You don't stand in front of Canelo and have success. Name one guy who has?? Cotto doesn't know how to fight backing up. He's gonna walk right into the fire. Against a bigger, younger, stronger bull of a man. Cotto doesn't have the athleticism, movement or range to trouble Canelo the way Floyd, Lara, Trout did.
I just don't get all the hype unless you're Rican or Mexicano. Anyone with a brain knows how this fight is gonna go. Canelo is gonna hurt Cotto. Bad.
I don't think that it has been hyped enough / properly.
As far as the fight itself is concerned, I think Cotto is very likely juiced and Canelo is drained. It has been over two years since GingerHead was drained down to 152 by FMJ. I think that 155 may be too light a weight for him to reach comfortably currently.
Cotto's power has suddenly reappeared at the heavier weight. Many have credited Roach for it. It is interesting that Cotto has been stripped of his WBC belt.
As a result I think the fight could go either way.
Someone suggested that GingerHead has been the beneficiary of two gift decisions - Trout and Lara. I disagree. They were both close decisions that went his way. Remember, the Trout fight was open scoring and Team Canelo was aware that they were comfortably ahead going into the final rounds, leading them to take fewer risks. The Lara fight could have gone either way. Lara while boxing well, simply did not do enough to insure a victory.
This fight can go either way, mainly based on Cotto's ability to hurt GingerHead and the Mexican's tendency to have to take breaks during a 12 round fight.

When has Gingerhead ever been hurt?
Cotto is the one who gets buzzed.

It is overhyped in the sense that both of these guys lost to Mayweather, and GGG will destroy both of these guys.

If Cotto lands the left hook flush we will find out. GingerHead has been down and when in afire fight he has appeared to get buzzed. He has shown multiple times that he can get a bit gassed.

Opie, as Saad would call him, is going to have an extremely live dog in front of him tonight. If he isn't at his best, he will get beaten badly. He may even if he is at his best. Can't wait. IMO, this is the biggest match up in boxing ATM.

ESPN.com picks have 8 for Cotto and 6 for Alvarez...not that it matters.

Highly predictable result. Too big, too strong. Fight wasnt as wide as those scores but the proper man definitely won. That said, Cotto is a warrior but for 15M he could at least give an interview in the rings to the fans. Weak sauce. Really weak, dude.

I agree, Cotto walking out and denying an interview was not a good look.

No one cares about Wlad and pury maybe only in Europe but over in the states ppl dont give two cents about clinch master wlad and that other guy.

Big Cotto fan but that sore loser attitude is a bad look.
