He probably has no idea what he's talking about. I bet he didn't even see the Wach fight (which Wlad seemed to have some difficulty with when dealing with height on a guy who is otherwise garbage).jezzamundo wrote:Pulev is 6'4 1/2" tops (that's what he's listed as on BoxRec. Go find me some Klitschko fights where he takes the front foot post Corrie Sanders and looks spectacular. Oh, you can't? Then that's why he looked awful.
Is it possible you were thinking of Wach? He's taller than Wlad at 6'7 1/2".
WTF was THAT?!

Great
What a weird fight.
Fury must be the worst unified champion in history.
Definitely the worst to hold 3.

Gotta say, I really didn't think Tyson could pull this off, I just never thought he was that good. Congrats to him though, massive result. at 39 I wonder if wladimir will retire now?

One of the most horrendous fights of recent memory.
Re: WTF was THAT?!
Champions never deliberately lose.
Fury was just the better fighter on the night. Didn't Wlad look a mess after the fight?

Folk need to stop now with the wlad ATG thing. It's embarrassing. No, wlad was not particularly past it. He was just wlad. He showed last year vs pulev he still 'has it', whatever 'it' is. It's just that history has shown us that he cannot deal with pressure from a guy who has the heart to fight back and bring it to him. Watch his pathetic display against the likes of ibragimov several years ago and then watch him vs fury. No difference. Same old 'new improved wlad'. An octopus who jabs and grabs and is terrified to let his hands go.
Re: WTF was THAT?!
Entirely predictable that the Fury haters jump on it being anything other than Fury. As I said on the give credit to Wlad thread, Fury is a totally different proposition to anything WK has faced for years. The irony of people complaining Fury didn't fight, spoiled, just did this etc is hilarious. That's what Klitschko has been doing for years now and finally it was done back to him. I also find it laughable that people think the novice who managed to punch himself is the man several years later, still unbeaten, who would get into the ring with the champion. Fury is a more natural boxer and more natural fighter, by natural I mean the fact he can move, he can switch, he can vary the punches. Yes WK got old but by all accounts his team got out thought, out fought and out tricked before the fight as well. He had no advantages this time against a guy who could out box him. That's why he lost in the end.

Good post. I take nothing away from fury, I like him and he did great. I don't rate him as highly as you (if haye comes back David is still knocking him out) but he had the gameplan to get it done. My angle was always about the wlad demise. I've been awaiting it for a while.GPTM1403 wrote:Entirely predictable that the Fury haters jump on it being anything other than Fury. Agree that Haye is all wrong for Fury. His issue is walking onto much smaller guys with overarm punches from his left that he doesn't see - he got away with it against decent punchers but Haye is quicker than those guys and hits unbelievably hard. A motivated Haye gives Fury major problems for me. I do think the biggest thing Fury did right was to turn up to go for it, so many seem to be intimidated and undone before the fight.Riddick Blowe wrote:Good post. Not so sure about that.

Glad I didn't pay anything to watch this snorefest. Did they throw more than 10 punches per round? Styles make fights and this time Wlad didn't know how to land on his opponent. If they meet up again, Wlad will be another year older.

Wlad landed 52 punches over 12 rounds and the majority were jabs.

You got it right he looked old real old and slow...I wonder what Wilder/Haymon think about this as their plan of fighting a bunch of easy opposition and then getting the payday against Klitschko seems to have hit a speed bump..diddy wrote:Oh he looked old. Really old. His reflexes weren't crisp. He wasn't sharp or stifling with the jab as usual. Be real. He looked poor.
