:OhYes: nail on the head there Roy, no way Wilder would have got in with Wlad.
So true mate, never heard him say anything about Vlad, now all of a sudden he's found his gonads

this coming summer.
I personally think that is rushing things for Joshua.Joshua appear to have more talent than any other
prospect at the moment, but has a very weak resume for someone challenging for a world title.
I am beginning to wonder if Hearn knows something about Joshua that we don't and is trying to cash out in what would be a monster payday in England.
Or is Hearn that confident in Joshua that he is willing to risk his big meal ticket against the champ?

Thoughts?

It might be rushing thing's a tad but Hearn knows as soon as Fury fight's some-one in their prime or nearing their prime his Heavyweight title will be gone forever :TU: Joshua beats Fury now.

Yes, I've said this all along, - however, someone has to take him beyond 3 rounds, and nobody, thus far, has come close.

...and Whyte won't be the first.

They will soon enough and we will see how he fares. I hope I'm wrong and he is the 2nd coming of Mike Tyson (in boxing terms only obviously) as it'll be great for British boxing but I reserve judgment until he has someone hit him back for a good few rounds.

Lennox Lewis was 28 before he went for the world title I believe. I think Joshua would be wise to focus solely on Whyte. Come through that well and take another litle step up etc

If he can keep winning and performing well and finally answer the chin/stamina questions that are asked of every heavyweight prospect, then I think he needs at least 3/4 fights and that would take us to the first half of 2017. No need to rush.

This is ridiculous. Joshua no way deserves to jump ahead of all the guys who are waiting on line for a big money championship fight. He has never even fought anyone in the TOP 70!!!

I don't think its as daft as it sounds. Whilst I don't think its a great idea Wlad was having some non-entity fights before Fury simply because he had beaten everyone. There aren't that many above Joshua that haven't already had a shot at a title and failed so I wouldn't say they are at the front of the queue.

Some fighters are more deserving of a shot than AJ but I'd say only a handful. But lets see how he gets on against Whyte first. That and (should he win) a fight with a proper contender would put him in the frame for a world title fight.

He's going to next week and I wouldn't be surprised if he KO's at least 50% of the top 20 within 5 rounds all over again.

Here's a nice topic about people advising around his 2016 schedule:

He's 1 Dereck Chisora away from a better resume than Fury had before getting his shot.

To be fair to joshua. Its an entertainment buisness. Hes went out there demolished everything thats been put infront of him in pretty devastating fashion. Fighters like that should get better oppertunities than the spoilers imo. Got a feeling haye v joshua will be the fight to make giving time. Dont really understand the negativity for hayes comeback fair enough he messed people about and ultimately lost convincingly to a guy 5 inches and 2 and a stone bigger than him. But his comeback makes the heavyweight division that little bit more interesting.

I'm with whoever said Joshua needs to worry about Whyte, and forget any fight beyond that.

Sounds like someone is getting too much too soon.... Seems like to me Joshua is completely over looking Whyte and buying into his own bull crap. Sounds like to me his people dont give a crap about him either and want to cash in while the interest is there. I'm sorry but a kayo over a low punching fringe heavyweight (Johnson) doesnt qualify as much ado about anything. I'd sooner see Hughie Fury fight Anthony Joshua, than Joshua fight Tyson Fury.

2 years ago Fury won a UD vs Kevin Johnson

Joshua recently destroyed KJ in a matter of minutes.

What "levels" did Fury progress through since KJ?

Steve Cruiserweight Cunningham
Joey  Abell
Dereck Featherfist Chisora
Christain Hammer

That was Fury's path to the title shot.

Now would anyone give any of those opponents a chance vs Joshua?? Would any of those 4 names take him past 2 rounds?

While there are levels in boxing, the Heavyweight division is horribly devoid of talent Joshua is already at the level he needs to be to win a world title. Infact the only fighter in that above list ranked higher than Joshua on boxrec is Cunningham (who surely retains cruiserweight points??).
Completely agree with this point. People are too concerned about keeping an unbeaten record, and Hearn is too worried that he will lose millions if things didn't pan out how he expected. I would love to see Joshua against Fury now, and I think AJ would do the business. People can talk all they want about Joshua's past opponents, but it is the way he is beating these opponents that is impressive. As you said, Fury didn't exactly have a World class list of opponents before fighting Wlad.

A comment of Tyson Fury just a few years back:

Fury was already quite scared of him back in the days

He's not scared of him, he's got respect for him for sure. Anyone who is willing to go to Germany and do what he's done against the undisputed champ isn't afraid of anyone.
