Am I missing something here??? How can it be a good BUSINESS move for the IBF to strip Fury of the title when he's awaiting a HUGH rematch with Klitschko early nexy year???

Surely there is more money to be made in the sanctioning fee's from Fury vs Klitschko, than what, Glazkov vs Charles Martin???

Genuine question, can someone explain this?

I can see how it benefits Duva or even Al Haymon (although he doesnt appear to care much about the belts either), but can in no way see how this can benefit the IBF... short term or long term!

Yeah its absolutely stupid in a business sense, 6% from a £20 million (at a complete guess) fight or 6% from a $1 million fight is a huge difference. Maybe Duva has sent them an early Christmas present or been sleeping away from home...

According to their rules, Fury does not have to fight the IBF mandatory challenger until November 2016. Newly crowned IBF champions have a year before they must defend their title.

Not true. It also says in those rules that if a champion is dethroned in an "optional defence" - which Klitschko-Fury was in the IBF's definition - then the successful new champion inherits the former ruler's mandatory obligations. So if Klitschko last made an IBF mandatory defence a year ago, Fury has to make one soon.

Furthermore Klitschko's last IBF mandatory was Pulev in Nov 14. Presumably the IBF allowed him grace to meet Fury as that was a WBO mandatory and the WBO were ahead in the rotation (Fury had also been made WBA No. 1 so no issue there). Now the IBF mandatory defence is outstanding and, in fairness, Fury's team probably knew that when agreeing to the rematch clause. If Klitschko had won, he'd simply have fought Glazkov next. If Glazkov had challenged Wilder in January, this problem may have gone away for a bit. And don't forget, Fury only had to agree the rematch clause because they did not allow the fight to go to purse bids. So this was avoidable.

Peter Fury already has said it will be Klitschko in April or May... with no voluntaries in between.... so I am guessing the IBF will take the belt, or they will eat humble pie and keep the belt on Fury. Its their decision.

Can seriously see this happening and perfect for an Eddie PPV as well.

Charles Martin is next in line who has a seriously padded record. If they rank him high no reason for them not to rank Joshua high especially with Eddies relationship with them.

I was just saying this to my wife. It makes sense for the IBF to jump on the Joshua train.
Joshua will be able to be fed whoever the IBF wants and will be able to still develop. All while making a good chunk of change off of him

IBF put new rankings out yesterday, Glazkov is 1, no one at 2, Klitschko at 3, then Martin, Teper and Szpilka. If Fury does vacate/gets stripped of the title, then the vacant title fight would be offered to Glazkov and Wlad first.
