I actually agree with this - however, I am sure that if you said certain things to Tyson Fury then he wouldn't be happy about it (you only have to read any "gypsy" themed threads on this site).

The difference is that he is bigger, tougher, and more willing to engage in violence than many people so they keep their mouths shut.

I don't think it's a witchunt.

I think Fury is out of step with the society he lives in, if he thinks he can make comments like he did in a public interview. He can hold those beliefs about homosexuals and Paedophilia being equated and bringing about the end of the world, but the minute he goes public with a microphone in front of him, I'm afraid he's going to get it.

I do find his comments offensive, whether they affect me or not directly. I find bigotry offensive no matter where or who it comes from.

Am I going to start a petition - no I'm not.

My major hope is that Fury's people or he, put a sock in it when it comes to such matters, and he confines himself to running his mouth about his opponents, rather than society at large, if he doesn't, he's likely to prove pretty unpopular as a champ for as long as it lasts, except perhaps with the religious right in the U.S, or perhaps radical islamist groups. He could end up with a large Wahabbi following in Saudi perhaps?

I enjoyed watching Mike Tyson and Bernard Hopkins box though they had both said racist things. Some boxers will be bigoted just like some sprinters and rowers will be.

Yep, and both rightly drew criticism for their views. I only really recall Hopkins saying anything racist (although not particularly vitriolic) in relation to Calzaghe. Tyson was widely rounded on throughout his career for his views on women and others - however, he was so spectacularly destructive in his prime, that people widely ignored it.

I think if Tyson is smashing them into next week, whilst he will still get criticism, he'll also still get plaudits.

When Tyson had that rant at the media when he realised Lewis wasn't afraid of him didn't he mention white this and white that?

Yeah I know the gist of it, although the quote keeps being reported as being “There are only three things that need to be accomplished before the devil comes home: one of them is homosexuality being legal in countries, one of them is abortion and the other one’s paedophilia", so I was really wondering where these things were mentioned in relation to the devil coming home.

It won't be long before we have morality police, similar to Saudi Arabia. If the police force have time for this sort of shite they shouldn't moan about government cuts, they've clearly got more than enough staff and resources.

The bible old testament mentions sodomy, homosexuality did not exist, so Sodomy was any sexual act considered unnatural. Sodomy could be adultery, two women, or oral or anal sex between anyone. It's a pretty broad term, it literally means 'the sins of Sodom' the city which along with Gomorrah (not to be confused with Begorrah a small hamlet near galway ) were destroyed by god for the iniquity and sins committed there.

Anyone who follows the old testament for moral guidance seriously needs their head examining. It's a pretty brutal affair, it makes a gore porn flick look like an episode of Miss Marple.

All these media pundits and athletes falling over themselves to condemn Fury for his comments are the same as those who fall over themselves to praise Ali as "The Greatest" and as their hero and inspiration - despite the some of the things he came up with and was involved in (including being a follower of the Nation Of Islam - read up about what THEY believe, it makes Scientology look like Darwin's Origin Of The Species).

The likely outcome will be the police will investigate the statements made by Tyson (i.e read them), consult with the CPS, who will advise there is no case to answer, and bugger all will happen.
