hopefully the fight can happen, because im interested in climbing up this year. so, who knows, maybe paths may cross. in my opinion, i would be too much for him. thats why fight wont happen. but like i said, who knows.
what does facing a journeyman get him, surely id be a more 'accomplished' win than a tin can push over? just wondering.
We're not looking for a journey man mate for next fight, and your right you are 100% a handful, your a decent fighter & good tough kid, but IMO if you fought Chris that would be your downfall mate, you like to plough forward just like people like Shane McPhilbin who is a very very tough lad, and a couple of the unbeaten lads he's fought, but Chris hits too hard and that's a fact, you wouldn't keep coming and be taking too many in 10oz gloves mate, and you wouldn't outbox him IMO Courtney, like I say I know you can be a handful but the fight can happen, I've gave you a couple of options mate, the ball is in your court, also I think too much as been read into in him losing to Bennett and you beating Bennett, Chris right bicep totally detached from his glenoid in the 2nd round of that fight and Bennett was just so negative it was unreal, but Chris still beat him one handed but they gave it to the home kid has it was his show and lots of fans there for him by 1 point on a S/D
Hopefully this can be put to rest and you can fight and see how it would plan out, I know Chris is like yourself and doesn't care who he fights, but for people like me who are involved, the fights need to make sense both career wise and business wise

Also that out of date McPhilbin was British Champion 2 fights prior to fighting Chris, and them 2 fights were against former world champion Enzo Maccranelli who Shane got robbed of the KO win in the first one. So he wasn't out of date mate, also Chris demolished him inside 3 rounds, something that no other fighter had done or has done since, including Sprott and any other of the heavyweights he's faced
Was there that night Chris proved me so wrong to be fair. Always rated him but did think the McPhillbin fight may have been a bit too much too soon ahead of it but he blew him away. As you say this was a decent Shane McPhillbin at the time.

plus, the comment 'never took an easy fight' is absolutely outrageous! all i see is flown over opponents just wanting a pay cheque.
keane did get rid of mcphilbin, correct. but he caught him with a lucky shot, the opponents chris has hae, should be all knocked out. getting beaten by dawson, who just rocked up for money is abit bad aswell. and as for the injury for the bennet fight, i can understand his injury was real bad. gutted for that, but he could of come away with then win. i think you and i can both agree, fighting me would be extremely dangerous. nothing to gain, everything to lose. mind you, at the moment he has nothing to lose.

Like I say mate, I've left the option open for you. 1: come and fight for free
2: get your team to put the fight on for one of the vacant intercontinental/ international titles WBO/WBA/IBF/WBC EBU/EU and we will come down to fight on your show.

Or are you just talking ? First things first you need to concentrate on beating josh next week before you look any further mate :TU:

Am I understanding this correctly -your lad is 12-2 and will box a lad who is 4-5-2 if he will box for free ?

Who is Chris's comeback opponent then?

Is it going to be someone with a better record than Courtney Richards? Are they getting paid their due amount as the away boxer or are they giving Chris a freebie for his ring return?

If the opponent is better on paper than Courtney fair enough.

If he isn't or its an eastern european you're going to lose a bit of face. Who is promoting the show his comeback is on?

I'd have thought about going (depending on opponents) but I'm at Frampton/Quigg that day.

It does make you wonder if promoters look at what else is on the same day. As well as one of the biggest fights of the year there's two shows in Brum that same night.

Yep, I get that in my area too. It usually comes down to the availability of venues and a host of logistical reasons but it does affect attendance figures.

On this issue, I think that Courtney Richards would be a cracking come-back fight for Chris Keane. Courtney has stated he will be ready on Feb 27th and wants the fight.

As I've said, if John Costello is going to get a 'better' opponent than Richards, fair play. But to offer it to Richards to do for nothing is ridiculous.

Richards does hold a win over Bennett. I was there for that and Richards only lost one round according to the ref/judge. Bennett was as negative in that fight as he always is, got penalised for a point(which didn't alter the outcome) and in my opinion had it been over 10 or 12would have either ended up getting stopped, losing widely or maybe even getting DQ'd if he carried on with his holding and messing.

I think Richards deserves the fight and deserves to be paid the going rate for it.

and dont forget Richards was the away fighter when he fought Bennett. Bennett had all the fans, the home town venue and his promoter and still come away with the win.

they want me to fight him for free because chris keane cant sell tickets. building him up to be a massive hitter, only stopping five out of 12 wins. all 12 fights being 'safe' fights. i have respect for chris and like him as a fighter. but i dont think youre in any situation to have chris fighting for a title? i dont want to come across as 'arrogant and outspoken' but im guessing thats how it will cone across... but i beat chris keane all day. and i think thats what youre worried about. this year im taking the right fights, ive took the tops fights, got sone great experience. and have gobe the distance in every fight, against people that were & are higher than keane. that to me makes me a very dangerous fight. and i reckon you know that chris wouldnt take it. i hope we clash soon

  behave Courtney, who have you fought that hits harder than Chris or better than him ? No one and that's a fact, your own manager would tell you the same mate. China Clarke couldn't crack a egg, neither can Bennett or Kellett, Simmons isn't a puncher either he's just physically strong, your talking rubbish mate, I'm a honest guy, anyone who knows me will tell you that, some like me some hate me and that's the reason why, I don't kiss Arse and I'm not a liar, I'm straight, and I'm telling you 200% Chris doesn't care who he fights, mate he would fight you now while he's not sharp or in shape properly, because that's what he does, he's a fighter, does Chris think he could knock you out ? 200% yes, your a big, strong, game, tough kid, I'll admit that, you are right your a dangerous fighter, a handful, but your limited and slow and clumsy and would be too easy to hit for Chris mate, bottom line what you think or what Chris thinks doesn't matter, what does matter is your ranking and record is shit and it does nothing to put Chris back where he needs to be, this is a business and you don't make business sense to fight, you bring nothing to the table and have nothing to offer so why would I let him fight you ? Just because you want to fight him ? Well like I say and someone else has posted about it, no I'm not saying he will fight you but only if you fight for free, what I'm saying is the only way for me the fight is worth while is if it's a free opponent, because has I've said, you bring nothing to the table if Chris beats you to get himself a better position to fight for a title, so why am I going to spend my money on you as a opponent when I can spend it trying to get a fighter with a better record that will help put Chris back where he needs to be, that's the business side of it. Ask Errol to put a show on down your way later in the year and put something on the line and you've got your fight mate, Chris is that scared to fight you he will come and fight you on your home show, can't be fairer than that.

That's obviously if you beat Josh Burke who your clearly looking past who your fighting next week, I'd concentrate on that first mate

So are you saying that Chris's opponent on the 27th is a better name than Courtney?

If not, why not make his comeback fight Courtney?

Yes mate, if we wasn't trying to get Chris a opponent to try and get back in the mix then Courtney isn't a problem as a opponent, in fact like I've already said, Courtney is a decent opponent, but at this point doesn't do anything to get Chris back to where we need him to be, and all banter and jokes and winding up aside, that's the thing I'm looking at.
