Lol anyone who fallowed Lewis knows that he was much faster and better in his prime than in his last fight.
He was much better boxer than overrated Wladimir Klitschko , who got exposed by Tyson Fury.
Fury is league behind Vitali and
Wladimir was not able even HIT HIM OMG. He was no able land some bombs.
If there was someone overrated , it was
Wladimir !
Subjective, opinion. No evidence whatsoever.

Fury boxes from range and moves much like he did against Wlad and Lewis doesn't get to him.
It's easy to say so and so does this and that but when Tyson is four inches taller and boxes to his strengths he's going to be bloody difficult for anyone to beat. Since he had the absense via Haye pulling out he's come back a completely different boxer to what he once was yet people can't shrug off their prejudices.
Prejudices?
So he keeps him off with that jab and no power right hand? Akinwande and Grant were both taller than Lewis, he had more trouble with shorter fighters. A fighter with zero power who can't keep Lewis honest would be an easy days work for him. Lewis would beat Tyson inside 6.
No.
Akinwande and Grant. Are you serious? I would probably beat them. .................... Exageration but you get my point.
Exactly. Akinwande had no heart, and Michael Grant was so bad that he makes Tyson Fury look like 6'9'' version of Larry Holmes. Well, in fact Grant made Jameel McCline look like 6'6'' prime George Foreman.

I'm just using your logic. You are bringing well pre-prime Wlad of 1998, I'm bringing 36 y.o. Rahman. 1998 Wlad was as much in his prime as Rahman was in 2008.
And OK, I will once again bring here PRIME Rahman's achievements. Just facts:
- PRIME Rahman got his ass kicked by average John Ruiz
- PRIME Rahman got his ass kicked by ancient Holyfield - exactly the same version of Holyfield that was completely dominated from pillar to post by former MW/SMW James Toney and Chris Byrd.
- PRIME Rahman was KTFOed TWICE by very slow glass-jawed B-level fighter in Oleg Maskaev. Rahman is 1:1 against Lewis and 0:2 against Maskaev.

Lennox wins by KO in my opinion.
Regardless of weight he was athletic enough to get through.
Older Lennox had great ring smarts.
His only defeats were by KO and Fury hasn't got the one punch KO power to knock out Lennox.

Yes.
It's about levels. People don't seem to correctly understand this.

Lennox is very overrated. Behind to Vitali ON ALL CARDS before cut stoppage, knocked out by Rahman who was leagues below the Klitschko's.
Memory plays tricks.
Fury points, comfortable.
Lets have a look at your points shall we,
Behind to Vitali but it was punches that caused the cuts so i don't understand where you are coming from?
He was KO'd by Rahman yes but there was reasons behind that KO. The fights being held in South Africa at high altitude and Lennox either through ignorance or by being just being too cocky and thinking he would beat Rahman regardless arrived very late and couldn't adapt to the altitude. Rahman was there for a few weeks whereas Lewis rocked up a few days before the bout!
But on your thinking Lewis was up on all of the judges cards before he got KO'd! haha
It is easy to say that Vitali was up on the judges card but a title fight is 12 rounds so if you legally cut or KO someone then it doesn't matter what the scorecards are, just as if you like Lennox overlook someone in Rahman and get KO'd no matter if it was down to preparation etc you have to take it on the chin and win any rematch which Lennox did and showed that the Rahman just like the Oliver McCall KO that it was more down to Lewis being complacent rather than the fighters being better than him and in heavyweight boxing you pay for these complacencies by getting KO'd!
Maybe its your selective memory that is playing tricks!
On Lewis vs Tyson Fury: If Lewis was motivated for the fight then he wins pretty easily but near the end of his career you could see that motivation was becoming harder for him and he was weighing in too heavy but the way Tyson Fury runs his mouth I don't think motivation would be a problem! So Lewis points for me

This thing about weight. What weight was Fury v Klitschko compared to Fury in past fights?

Would you say he was in great shape for that fight or that he was anywhere close to peak condition?

I never mentioned anything about Fury's weight! haha I don't understand why you are bringing his weight up either in that fight or earlier fights? I mentioned that Lennox Lewis weight was higher near the end of his career due to both good living and the fact he was winning fights pretty easily and becoming complacent.

I'd say he was in good shape for a man of his age / stature.

He was no lard-ass, sure - and there
may be a point that he was in as good a shape as his own ageing body could allow. Even so, that doesn't mean he was in great condition.
But just compare his movement in that fight to his movement in his prime years. The difference is pretty significant. There was no bounce in his legs. I can't remember him displaying worse movement.

holy shit, Fury beats an overrated, and old Klitschko in a fight that was not even a fight and suddenly he can beat Lennox Lewis?
Times like this you begin to doubt that boxing forums are actually populated by boxing fans

I can't call a result as Fury's career is still going, and who knows how good or average he will turn out to be.
But on current evidence Fury would've called problems to Lewis at any stage of his career. Not saying he'd win, there is not enough evidence at this stage, but a 6ft 9 tall 86 in reach heavyweight who is game and (at the very least fairly) talented would cause any heavyweight in history problems.
That's not to see Fury might not get ironed out, he's quite vulnerable in the early rounds, but no way is it an 'easy fight' from the outset... Like eg Frans Botha / Bermene Stiverne against the top champs...

I'm sure the usual suspects will claim Saunders would have danced rings around Toney

This is a hard one. Tyson Fury is very under rated and Lennox Lewis is very overly rated. Saying that when he was champion no one really rated him too highly. As for this fight specifically I think Fury would be all wrong for Lewis. He would get very frustrated with Furys awkwardness and would make mistakes. I don't think its a guarantee but I would fancy Fury late stoppage. Holyfield was made for Lewis and everyone else he had fought was either past it or not that good.Lewis got beat by very poor fighters. This is one I would like to have seen.

It's telling that while 'Lewis by win KO' wins by a deserved landslide few people can actually be bothered to debate the drivel in this thread.
Fury has poked his way to a decision over Wladimir Klitschko, shimmied his hips a little, jiggled his moobs, and now a few people will have him punching bare fist through the Red Army. It's beyond reason.

I suspect it won't be too long until threads like these are brought back up and laughed at by everybody, not just those already smirking.
What happens if Wilder fights Fury and manages to blast him out? I tell you want happens, we will see threads like 'Wilder v Tyson/Ali/Louis/Holmes' with the odd poster convinced Wilder would have been 'too quick' for Ali....
Fury is a top lad but some pople live for the hyperbole. Let's revisit this in 6/7 years if Fury is still champ and has cleared everyone out. Then perhaps we can have a proper discussion about it
What next? Henry Wharton v Roy Jones Jnr....prime for prime, who wins?
