He was getting 7 figures for the proposed rematch last summer. Add a world title and PPV into the bargain, as well as some extra publicity for Eubank thanks to his Dad and I see no reason why he can't make £2m for the rematch, plus whatever he gets for the defence he has before it.crusader wrote:How much did he make for the first Eubank fight? What about the Lee fight?
What is your basis for claiming that he'd make $3m if he fought Eubank again?
Golovkin-Saunders is off - negotiations are dead

I'd actually lean toward BJS if he fought Canelo at 160 BJS is all wrong for him. If he got this offer for that fight I reckon he'd take it in a heartbeat.crusader wrote:
Would you be surprised if Alvarez or Jacobs beat BJS, assuming they fought?
Jacobs tough one still not sold in him.
My point is the only guy at middleweight who 100% beats BJS is GGG.

We don't know he can make that money from fighting eubank jnr either, just figures bandied around.expe wrote:We don't know what the offer was, various figures have been quoted and certain people have decided to run with the highest of them, which was around $3m. He makes that fighting Eubank again, so why take a harder fight on the road for the same money he can get at home. The Golovkin fight will still be there waiting for him down the line when the time's right anyway.Kingfield wrote:I think bringing £3m to the table, is enough.expe wrote: No one wants to fight Golovkin because he doesn't bring enough money to the table, something that some of his fans are unable to understand. When that's the case, as it almost always has been, they're not going to take a fight with him and it isn't because they're scared or they're ducking him, it's because boxing is a business and they're looking for the fights that leave them with the highest amount of money in the bank when they retire.
I dont see who BJS can fight and get anywhere near that money.
Re: Golovkin-Saunders is off - negotiations are dead
I think it would of been 2 million minimum which is still a great pay day for BJS. He'd be lucky to get that for fighting Eubank with the platform they are on. He should of took the GGG fight and the Eubank fight will still always be there with the bad blood between the two where as I don't think the GGG one is without the belt.expe wrote:We don't know what the offer was, various figures have been quoted and certain people have decided to run with the highest of them, which was around $3m. Source (and not just vague speculation or numbers being freely tossed around) on the 7 figure rematch? If the source is BJS then didn't he also claim that he was offered $6m to fight GGG?expe wrote:He was getting 7 figures for the proposed rematch last summer. Maybe I have a poor sense of the marketability of a BJS-Eubank rematch, but $3m seems like an awful lot for that fight.
Re: Golovkin-Saunders is off - negotiations are dead
Came from Saunders himself, said he would have been getting over a million for the rematch. He said on twitter he'd be 6 mill heavy if he fought Golovkin, that to me looks more like him saying that if he fought Golovkin that's the sort of money that's needed, not that he'd actually been offered that much.crusader wrote:Source (and not just vague speculation or numbers being freely tossed around) on the 7 figure rematch? It would be PPV and outdoors in a stadium, I don't think it's out of the question that Saunders could get in that sort of region for the fight as the defending champion. He'd have a defence in April too before that so that's some extra money on top and it's a much easier fight than Golovkin, even if he got beat he'd get a rematch.

What a joke.......... 4 mill not enough who's BJS think he is he will regret not taking the money while it was their he's a big chance of losing it [WBO] in his 1st/2nd defence especially if he fights like he did after Knocking down Lee twice he'll be lucky if he gets by Eubank Jr again it'll turn out being a very bad business decision down the track

So all those doctors and scientist that are on yt are uneducated and unintelligent? It's so sad when people prove they have nothing tangible to say by hurling insults thus proving their own commentary moreso about themselves than about who they intended it towards.crusader wrote:LOL---stupidity overload reading those comments; YT is a repository for the unintelligent and uneducated.
