Haye has been a bona fide world champion and one of the best British fighters ever
Joshua has potential.
I think Joshua has tremendous potential.
Haye was a good cruiserweight champion a long time ago. Since then he bored everyone out of their minds running against Klit and Valuev.
Until he fights more, I consider him retired.
The Chisora fight was after those fights but that's a moot point. Running or dancing or boxing on the back foot, call it what you will, is a legitimate tactic especially when faced with massively bigger opponents.
True, Chisora was Haye's best performance as a Heavyweight. I'll cut Haye some slack for running away from Klitschko. But running away for 12 rounds from Valuev? Really? Max Baer didn't run away from Carnera. Louis didn't run away from Buddy Baer. And I think those opponents were at least as good as Valuev, who was terrible.

Haye had a gameplan and executed it perfectly. Despite all the talk of boxing being entertainment, first and foremost it's about winning. Had he stood in front of Valuev and tried to back him up he might've got clipped.
Applying the same critique to Fury v Wlad we could accuse Fury of running all night but nobody seems to be doing that and rightly so. It's boxing not a streetfight.
Before Joshua last fight with Whyte I thought Joshua was a sure thing to beat Haye even in 2015...........Its not because of Haye big KO
win over Mark[overmatched]De Mori because that was a nothing fight but more so because Whyte gave us a sneak preview that Joshua aint
quite ready for the top 5 or 6 or even 7 and 8th best heavyweight's around just yet.......... You cannot buy EXPERIANCE I would be keeping Joshua away from Haye for the remainder of 2016 and let one of the more experienced guy's put him in his place after about 5 or 6 more fight's Joshua could give Haye a going away party by mid 2017...............Right now I would be avoiding Haye until the time is ripe

A lot of people are overly critical of Fury here. With Wlad, Spilkva, and Glaskov losing there are many unhappy campers.
Not a question that needs answering imo.
Haye has nothing Joshua wants, and the reverse should also be true.
I think at least one of them needs a world title for any bout to become genuinely viable, and to me neither is within a year of that happening.
It's also impossible to judge where Haye stands exactly from his showing against de Mori. A couple more fights and we should get a much better picture of just how much of a toll time and injury have taken.
