Martin won the baloney belt without landing a single punch!
Re: Charles Martin (IBF Heavyweight "champion") is the worst titleholder I've ever seen
That's kinda hard on Martin, I don't think he's that bad at all. He does the fundimentals well and has size and power. He was beating Glaskov before knee gave way.
He's certainly not the worst champion. The HW division was crap pre-Tyson post Holmes dominance (everyone seems to forgets that).
John Ruiz, Valuev, Sam Peter, Maskaev IMO were worse champions.

How much can we know about him at all at this point?
calling him the worst ever is almost as bad as calling him the best ever.
Of course, with all the trinkets out there, it's easier than ever to become a champ so guys in the lower third all time are going to be
seen more often from now on....no news there.

I cant agree with this thread.martin looks quite decent and could develop in what is still a weak division.
He has some power and athleticism

At the moment Martin is a worse champion than those fighters.Loki wrote:John Ruiz, Valuev, Sam Peter, Maskaev IMO were worse champions.

Ruiz is as accomplished as wlad and would fair well in wlads hugathons. Very close fight.
Re: Charles Martin (IBF Heavyweight "champion") is the worst titleholder I've ever seen
More BS from people that don't seem to want new up and comers be successful. Give him a chance to prove himself. Its not his fault he got a shot at a title and took it. He is a decent fighter, time will tell how good. To say he is the worst ever is a stupid thing to say.
Re: Charles Martin (IBF Heavyweight "champion") is the worst titleholder I've ever seen
I feel he maybe a bit unappreciated here ?
Re: Charles Martin (IBF Heavyweight "champion") is the worst titleholder I've ever seen
Why should he be appreciated?Rexob wrote:I feel he maybe a bit unappreciated here ?
On paper he is an awful champion. Perhaps he will go on to prove himself a worthy title holder, but he probably won't.

No they weren't.Loki wrote:John Ruiz, Valuev, Sam Peter, Maskaev IMO were worse champions.

When I say worse champions, I of course mean potential wise. I think Martin has been lambasted unfairly; there was only one winner against Glaskov pre-ACL rupture.clopixolacuphase wrote:No they weren't.Loki wrote:John Ruiz, Valuev, Sam Peter, Maskaev IMO were worse champions.
Taking into consideration what I've seen including tools, skill and boxing IQ (Glaskov has amateur pedigree and Martin was outboxing him) - I think a few people will be surprised where Martin ends up. He's tall and a southpaw plus clearly has pop.
I'll wager he defends his title a few times and I'm confident (only he has a real problem taking a shot) he will be 'potentially' better than all the aforementioned. Cmon, all four were awful.

This idiotic beyond belief. I admit Wladimir and Ruiz held a lot, but this is ridiculous.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Ruiz is as accomplished as wlad and would fair well in wlads hugathons. Very close fight.
I don't remember a memorable title defence Ruiz had or a defence that ended in a KO. His best moment was being starched by Tua in 20 seconds.

Both Klitschkos would have put Ruiz to sleep. comparing Ruiz to either Klitschko cannot be taken seriously.

Ruiz is definitely more accomplished than vitali. Not even close.Tony1244 wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote:NopeTony1244 wrote:

If you're attempting to write one of the top 10 dumbest statements I have ever read online you have a lot of competition. Having said that you are doing quite well. You're statement is wedged between Israel is an ally of ISIS and Sarah Palin is very smart.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Ruiz is definitely more accomplished than vitali. Considering its 100% accurate, that doesn't bode well for your reasoning.

He's trolling, and/or a Ruiz nuthugger.

Neither, he has a better resume than vitali. Beating holyfield alone is greater than anything vitali did.
Re: Charles Martin (IBF Heavyweight "champion") is the worst titleholder I've ever seen
If they would have fought, I have no doubt vitali would have won. That said, if you look at their resumes ruiz has the better scalps. He was much, much better than martin is.

I wouldn't have used the word "worst" for the title of this thread. I would have said "the most undeserving".
