Disagree.
Garcia is top 5 at 147 and could beat any one. His feet are a half second too slow, but his timing is impeccable. Better than any current fighter I could think of off the top of my head ... maybe tied with GGG.
If Garcia was a Puerto Rican from Puerto RIco, and promoted by Top Rank, he'd have half his resume, but 4x the recognition and following.
I wish Danny could get Manny. He would ice him.

I disagree, I thought Garcia was landing the more significant punches throughout the fight, and he managed to pull himself ahead by 2 rounds and then 3 and I thought that was relatively the difference in the scoring with Garcia winning Unanimously by 3 points.

I saw it the same way as the judges---116-112 Garcia.
Guerrero---who is NOT washed up---had a 4-2 edge through 6 rounds.
The quicker, more athletic Garcia swept the remainder of the bout. Failed to land many effective combinations but his numerous one-shot counter punches ruled the day.
Funny thing about Garcia. He seldom wows you anymore. He just gets by and does what's neccessary to win.
He'll be a solid underdog if a bout with Thurman materializes, but I wouldn't be surprised if he edges out a decision in that one too.
Certainly the Thurman who struggled with faded Collazo some months back didn't look like the monster world-beater many make him out to be.
Maybe another Matthysse in the making.

I had it 117-111 Garcia.
I thought he won quite comfortably.
Sergio Mora shouldn't be allowed near a microphone again.
Awful commentary for all the fights

Great fight. The action is round 12 was classic. I agree with the decision and was impressed with the heart shown by both guys.

Watched the fight at my Uncle's in GA (a former boxer who still trains fighters into his 80s).
Just as I expected, Ghost was giving Swift hell and I had him ahead halfway thru. But, Guerrero did not wear him down as I expected and it is clear Garcia ran things the second half of the fight. No one should have a problem with who won.

Had the fight 115-113 for Garcia,
However, very disturbed by Jack Reiss raising Danny's hand BEFORE he was read the winner of the fight. Jack should be called on this!

I wasn't actually scoring it but I think I'd be somewhere around this score, Garcia with some beautiful punch picking.
I'm only left wondering whether it was down to Danny's accuracy, timing and composure or Guerreros lack of defence and exposing himself time and again
It was probably a combination of the 2.

I was pretty impressed with RG early on in this one. He definitely looked in the best shape I've seen him in a long time. He's just not a 147 pounder to me. IMO, he should have retired or stayed a JW. He's basically lost 4 out of his last 5 fights. Garcia cuts and marks up so easily. Even his shoulders, back and stomach were all charred up. So he's always looking worse for ware but I had Garcia winning 8 or 9 rounds.

I thought it was close, but I have no real problem with those who had Garcia wide.
Too many big, clear shots by Swift even if Ghost was working the whole of every round.
As far as the top 147s Garcia can beat?
Amir's chin hasn't gotten any better and Garcia would beat him again.
Porter is kinda the same guy as Ghost (younger, stronger, but not as good a chin as Guerrero) so I think Swift over him too.
But Thurman and likely Brook probably murder Garcia.
Bradley dominates him- and Swift has nothing for Tim as he took everything Provo dished.
Pac is probably the best 147 still out there and would also stop Garcia.
And I am pretty sure Swift and his pops wont go anywhere near the kid, Spence. And that is probably wise too.

Jack probably couldn't here a thing inside the ring. He looked to the judges table for confirmation, then raised Garcia's hand (Jack probably thought he was late). Just a small miscommunication created that anomaly.
In large stadiums the ref may need an earpiece to hear the announcement of the official decision.

I can't wait to find out how DG fares against the guys you name. He's been so carefully matched up all of sudden. After the Matthysse fight, the matchmaking made no sense to me. His popularity took a big nosedive because of it. I'm a Danny Garcia fan even still though and I love his style of fighting. I couldn't believe how much his right hand improved and he was putting everything into those shots from all sorts of angles too, sometimes doubling up on it. But the fact that Guerrero never came close to going down with some of those shots on the button, worries me about DG's power at this weight.
I think he beats Porter, Khan, Bradley and Manny. Brook will frustrate the heck out of him and pick him to death. I think Thurman gets a possible KO of DG but that is a fight that is intriguing because I'm still not sold on Thurman's chin. He's been buzzed numerous times against some mediocre opposition.
The division is just jacked with talent. This is great.

The bolded hit things right on the mark.
Which is why (though we agree about Porter and Khan losing to DG, and Thurman and Brook beating him)
I don't like Swift against most of the elites in the division.
Folks are judging Manny too harshly because of the defeat to Floyd.
When are folks going to realize that Mayweather was always going to be a physical and
stylistic nightmare for Manny anytime they fought?
For almost anyone else, Pac is hell...and he would destroy Swift because Danny gets hit to often and too clean.
Bradley would box his ears off (see the JMM and Rios fights) and win a wide decision or stop Swift late.
Yes, Thurman and Brook may have chin issues, but that is against full welters and it is clear Swift is not that yet.
Go back and look at the Mayweather/Guerrero tilt and answer this question: Was Ghost more hurt at points in
that fight
than he was in the fight a week ago?
If the answer is yes, then you know all you need to about Swift's present punching power at 147.
