Re: Could Lennox Lewis still come back and beat the
lewis got kfto by rahman and mccall. to say lewis couldn't get ko'd by martin just
the same in his prime is pure nostalgia. we may as well be arguing about whether
larry holmes or george foreman could beat martin in their late 60's of hollyfield
coming back in his mid 50's to do it. what in martin's last fight made anyone think
he is so bad? he looked like he was cruising to victory when glazkov got injured
and somehow people are twisting it into martin looking bad. did he deserve his
title shot? no. is he bad lined up against the current top 10? there is no evidence
yet to show that. was the early 90's a better division than now? maybe the few
guys at the very top were better skills-wise back then but they are bigger now
so there is a trade-off. you can't just throw 50 year olds in with top guys.

Re: Could Lennox Lewis still come back and beat the
You know, you've got to be an egregious American idiot to actually state that Charles Martin would have any sort of "chance" in a hypothetical matchup VS Lennox Lewis. The only "chance" Martin would have is whether or not he is knocked completely out or stopped by the ref or his corner. If that fight happened, the betting odds would be something like 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 - 1 in favour of Lennox Lewis. Lennox Lewis VS Charles Martin would look a lot like David Haye VS Mark de Mori.
Lennox Lewis is multiple levels above Charles Martin. Its like comparing a brand new Porsche (Lewis), to a sh1tty, shopworn, beater Pontiac Vibe from the late 1990's or early 2000's (rhetorical question, because The Pontiac Vibe actually didn't debut until the mid 2000's, and it wasn't a question more of a statement, call it an existentialist rhetorical statement). Charles Martin isn't good enough to hold Lennox's friggin jockstrap, or Wlad's jock strap for that matter either, or Vitali's jockstrap. I'm not even sure he would make it as a "sparring partner" with those guys.
Lennox Lewis would KO Martin in round 1. Vitali Klitschko would annihilate him in seconds. Even Kirk Johnson (who Vitali KO'd in 2) would stand a good chance of an early KO win over Charles Martin.
I know that there are some Americans on the board here, and I don't mean to be personally disrespectful to Martin but the truth is: he's crap. He likely isn't even a top-15 heavyweight and it truly is pathetic that he actually has a title. It makes boxing and the heavyweight division look bad. I've seen better 14 year old amateur boxers than Charles Martin.
Just another American hype job, only this one is even worse than Wilder. Wilder has been able to hold on to his title because he's been fighting bums and borderline top-25ish. But Martin, even if they feed him bums, will probably lose his title.
I'd also like to point out that I'm not British, so do not have any sort of bias in favour of Lewis. It's just truly mind-boggling seeing American fans actually say that Martin would have a chance VS Lennox. Its like those commercials where you see retarded Americans trying to locate Brazil, Russia, or even Canada (their neighbour) on a world map and they can't. Like how god damn stupid are these people? Are all Americans really this idiotic? What sort of backwater lands are you hill billies from? (Don 't worry, you Americans better count your lucky stars, Wilder is getting KO'd by Povetkin if that fight happens, Martin will get KO'd by anyone, he's just not any good). It's hard to believe people like this are actually living and breating and not permanently part of the "funny farm" (that's mental hospital in plain English).

Re: Could Lennox Lewis still come back and beat the
where did lennox lewis learn to box? canada and the united states (trained in NY as amateur).Andrew Kearney wrote:I'd also like to point out that I'm not British
what country had nothing to do with making lennox lewis a boxer? britain
what country did he represent in the olympics? canada (twice)
did he have more pro fights in england (18) or north america (24)? north america
where did he train as a pro? usa (kronk)
where did almost all of his most important fights take place? usa (almost entire 2nd 1/2 of career)
where did he retire after boxing? usa
where were his parents from? jamaica
where does he not want to live? england (only really lived there in grade school)
why? because it isn't as good as the united states
btw, he's 50 phucking years old, got knocked out cold in his prime by rahman and mccall,
and hasn't fought in almost 13 years. you nutters have any idea what a 50 year old who
hasn't trained in 13 years looks like in a ring? george foreman was almost 49 when he lost
(debatable decision) to briggs, but he had been training and fighting regularly since 1987
after his 10 year layoff and he had a very economical style (trained by archie moore). you
can't just get out of bed at 50 after 13 years out of the ring and fight for titles.
p.s. as far as seeing 14 year old amateurs better than charles martin, he was 2012 national PAL
champion and runner up at the 2012 national golden gloves facing the same opponent,
so get serious. both of those qualified him for the olympic trials. at best, there were only
a few americans in his division who were better in the amateurs than him. unless you see
lots of 14 year old open division national champions, you don't know what you're talking about.

Re: Could Lennox Lewis still come back and beat the
id love to say he'd crush them all, but i think too much time has gone by where he has 'rightly so' enjoyed some good living. So i doubt it, and i hope we never find out.
