Way I see it is very simple and that's from boxing fan's point of view.
I don't care who the promoter is and I don't care who the tv people are.
I switch on my television and watch a fight.
Who Al Haymon is I have no idea, yes I could research him and I can't lie I did a bit in the past but I judge him on the legitimacy, quality and matchups of his fights that's it.
You deliver and meet the requirements I set and you're in, so far as long as the PBC are concerned I've been impressed.
Haymon is a black promoter that is killing boxing by ring-fencing his fighters for his dying PBC failed project. But because he is black and was Floyd's manager that's why that racist piece of poo Brut/49&0/koolkc (all the same psychopath) extends to Haymon his undying Floydlove.
Good take, Evander.
It is the take any good boxing fan should have, summed up just as you said.
The problem with Pretty Ricky, aka smegma girl, is that she is a blatant bigot.
The italicized is proof of both his racism AND his cluelessness.
What does it matter that Haymon is black? And Haymon is a manager, not a promoter.
He doesn't "make" fights in the conventional sense, although his input is undeniable
as would be that of anyone who manages and advises any professional athlete.
I'll pull your coat as to how you can really tell what a piece of fecal matter Pretty Ricky really is
without having to actually scroll thru idiotic post after idiotic post in some search. All you have to
do is ask yourself a few questions (from your post count, you've been hear a minute, so it should be easy)
In the past 10 years, how many truly great cards have you seen Arum put together?
How many of those cards have involved non-Arum fighters?
(Same two questions for Golden Boy promotions and non GBP fighters)
Truth is, most outfits make their fights in-house- more money is made when
you don't have to split profits with other promoters, managers, TV companies, etc.
Yet, in all your years here, Evander, can you recollect Pretty Ricky making rant after rant
about how this white or latino promoter is singlehandedly ruining boxing for everyone?
I rest my case. Next time Pretty Ricky bothers you, tell him to take his white robe and hood off first.
Truth is, the PBC is putting on about twice the number of FOTY candidates as everyone else combined.
And you are quite astute to recognize that.
And BTW, if you have time, click on that Waddell & Reed article link.
But, be sure to read the comments as well. You will see that this is a valuation (paper) issue,
not necessarily an indicator of true loss or gain.
In other words, why should we be surprised that astute financial players like these, who mustered
a war-chest of over half a billion dollars, would be carrying things on paper as a huge loss?
Why should we be surprised that any business still in it's first year of operation would be showing
huge outlays of capital as they set up longterm concessions, in this case paying for TV time over 3 or 5 years.
If these doomsday clowns are right, we shouldn't see any PBC fights in 3 or 4 months. That is how you will know
if these financial numbers mean anything in the real word or if it is simply a matter of smart financial
planners protecting themselves from having to declare a single penny of profit which has obviously been
made on at least some of the broadcasts.
