Not quite the opponent Peter promised, but pretty much the opponent we were all expecting.
A durable-ish journeyman who has lost to pretty much every decent fighter he has faced (and some crap ones too). Shouldn't give Hughie too much to worry about.
But he seems to have scored an upset or two also, that's probably how they will sell it.

Was not he supposed to fight a highly ranked opponent? Eddie would have been stoned for such travesty.

Somewhat of an upset last time out so looks as if he may still carry a little ambition but nothing special on paper. Not seen him I don't think so can only go by his record. Should probably be a straight forward win for Fury.

Not a terrible opponent. I'm actually glad he's fighting an opponent of this calibre and not jumping straight into world level.
He's progressing nicely at the moment, a couple of decent wins over Rudenko and Arias... admittedly a step back with his past 2 opponents but he's only 21, no need to rush him. For me, Hughie needs to hang around this level for a year or two facing the likes of Sexton, McDermott, Gerber and Rossy before stepping up to world level.

hughie hasn't come into his power yet, he will win a points decision vs. aguilera.
and i agree with others, there is no need to rush hughie at this stage

Very disappointing opponent with all the hype from his own camp..
Best of luck to Hughie all the same

Not the name we were hoping for.
Still baffles me how Hughie can't attract a good name. Hughie carries name, probably decent money and he's not exactly the biggest puncher.
Wonder if he will go down British route when Joshua vacates.

I was thinking the same.
Fighting and beating Hughie creates a storyline and potentially opens the door to his big cousin attempting to exact revenge...

I was going to post but I agree with this 100% so no pointpoint

Some top ten opponent
That said, it's not a bad fight for Hughie at this point. Aguilera fought closely with Gerald Washington two bouts ago and upset a top 50ish guy last fight, so I don't think he'll roll over. He also seems fairly durable and has only been stopped by people with significantly more power than Hughie.

I think this is a great fight for Hughie at this age. Nagy is not world class, but he can spring the upset. He gave Washington a tough fight and beat the guy he was brought in to fall down for in his last fight. He's a dangerous journeyman, and that's precisely the type of fighter most prospects are steered clear of these days. To me this fight shows some real confidence from Hughies camp, despite it not living up to their promises of a big name top ten opponent.

excellent match up at this stage of hughies career. a points win for fury looks the most likely result, but if fury could stop him it would be an excellent result.

Paddy Power are offering 1/40 on Hughie winning.
I'm seriously considering putting a ton on this fight as I could really do with that 2 & a half quid

I won't say Nagy Aguilera is a complete bum, not at all even, but he's certainly not a top 10 contender.
More like top 60 ish I guess.
Somehow he recently had a nice win against Marcin and that's why he's currently ranked that high.
Simply a smart choice of Hughie, he's ranked high, while he isn't that good, so nice moment to fight him.

Cheif support on April 30th, Shannon Briggs being heavily on BN last night could it be Hughie v Briggs?

I've just mentioned this in the Haye thread.
I'd love it to ne this but I reckon Haye gives him a bigger payday so I reckon thats the more likely fight.
Hughie vs. Briggs brings way more interest than BJS vs. Bursak...

I agree, he's still a baby in a division where many are still coming into their prime in their mid-30's.
Hopefully this will kick start a busy period for young Hughie.
