Seems to have been not seen anything official yet and these things are usually done lunchtime.

I saw it reported somewhere earlier that Ovil McKenzie's European title fight (which W*rren won bids for) against Kucher is to be staged in London 30th April. I'd expect this to be on the same show a big stacked show somewhere like Wembley arena (or poss O2).
Was postponed yesterday, must not be 100% sorted yet, show's at the Copper Box.
Copper Box is only about 3 thousand isn't it? I'd therefore not expect anything brilliant bit of a soft defense by the looks of it.
7.5k. No idea who it is, keep seeing N'Dam and Langford getting mentioned. Langford is just a few daft people doing 2+2=5 because he's ranked and they're both promoted by Warren, Liam Smith fought Jimmy Kelly so Saunders must be fighting Langford. Hopefully it's N'Dam, would be a great first defence, other than Cotto he's probably the best opponent available.

Jacobs and Heiland are better opponents and available.
ps Langford is already booked...

he's ranked number 12 by the WBO (god knows how).

WBO Rankings (available & coming off a win) -
1. Arif Magomedov
2. Hugo Centeno, Jr.
5. Artur Akavov
7. Ryota Murata
8. Tureano Johnson
9. Lajos Mark Nagy
10. Maciej Sulecki
11. Max Bursak
12. Kerry Hope
15. Jan Meiser
Strange rankings. I had a look at his record and he picked up the WBO Oriental title last summer in a ten round win over some Kiwi dude. That must be where his ridiculous ranking has came from. Horrible fight not worthy of contesting a world strap if it comes off.

I'm sure Jacobs would love to come over and fight Billy Joe for a couple of hundred grand. N'Dam is a miles better opponent than Heiland, his only win outside Argentina is a shot to pieces Matthew Macklin.

Just because Langford already has a fight doesn't mean he isn't fighting Saunders, I don't think he is anyway because it would be pointless and they'd get a lot of stick for it but there's nothing to stop them from making it.

N'Dam might be a miles better fighter than Heiland (debateable) but the fact remains you have to sell the fight.
How can you sell the fight of your World Champion facing a man who just got beat by a man who just got beat by GGG?
Heiland has beaten a recognisable name in Macklin on Sky Sports and is coming off a win. Its a much easier fight to sell.
This is why these shows don't draw...

Langford would be better suited co-maining a BJS card against a Dmitry Chudinov or a Kerry Hope and calling out the winner of the main-event.
WWE bollocks, yes. But it builds a little interest...

Oh thought it was smaller to be honest.

Yeah can't be Langford really hes out on the Flanagan/Mathews card.

They can sell it as a tough first defence for Saunders, which is exactly what it is.

He beat a shot Macklin with well under 100k watching, other than that he's the typical Argentinian opponent, unknown, padded record, lost every time he's left the country and hasn't even got particularly well at home either, as his trilogy with Mateo Damian Veron shows. Don't exactly see what there is there to make it an easier fight to sell. Fairly sure he's waiting on a shot at the WBC after the Alvarez-Golovkin situation is sorted out.

I think you're the only person I've seen that's had a bad word to say about him fighting N'Dam.

And make Langford look like a complete tit in the process, he'd get laughed at for it and if the fight actually happened it would still get called shit. He'd be better off carrying on progressing like he is now instead of trying to get a world title fight he doesn't deserve and is nowhere near ready for.

N'Dam would be a decent defence but I just hate when a guy coming off a loss walks straight into a title shot.

People have accepted that this is the type of fight W@rren and B0xNati0n put on, that's why theres no real complaints.
We should be wanting better fights.
How can somebody coming off a loss, to a non title holder, be getting a title shot?
Also Heiland has won when he has left Argentina, he beat Macklin in the UK...

Amazing that there's no complaints about a 50/50 world title fight

He's fighting next weekend in Paris so he won't be coming off a loss anyway and it's a voluntary defence, he's ranked, why shouldn't he be able to get the fight? Every independent set of rankings I've looked at has him in the top 10, IBF and WBC have him top 10, WBO have him 13, only the WBA don't rank him. Compare that to Heiland who's ranked 1 by the WBC and doesn't feature elsewhere, but that's somehow a better fight.

Which is why I said "other than that", if you'd read my post properly you would have seen that. Dublin isn't in the UK last time I checked either.

Suppose you know what you meant.

Anyway,
if you or anybody else thinks this is a good title defence then fair play, the crowd and viewing figures will be the ultimate judge.
And I sense this will be a dud on both counts.

Love him or hate him there is a reason Hearn is leading the way in terms of numbers and its by stretching the truth.
The truth is N'Dam is coming off a loss in a non-title bout and is heading into a World Title fight.
Heiland is on a 5-fight win streak, is according to the WBC rankings next in line for a shot at Canelo and has beaten Mathew Macklin, who is effectively Billy Joe Saunders manager via MGM.
Which one do you think is a better and easier sell to the cash paying public?

If it's true he's fighting a top 10 opponent in his first defence that could easily beat him, what planet are you living on to think that isn't a good fight? Then again you also think David Price v Gary Cornish is a good fight.

N'Dam lost to Lemieux for the IBF title and again, if you read my post properly, after his fight next week he won't be coming off a loss.

Tocker Pudwill was on a 5 fight win streak too, means nothing with the opposition Heiland's been fighting. According to every other set of rankings he isn't in the top 15 in the division and every reputable independent set of rankings has N'Dam in the top 10.

I never said Price vs. Cornish is a good fight. A fun fight yes, but a good fight no.
Do you honestly believe Hassan NDam could easily beat Billy Joe Saunders? I don't.
Picking and choosing whose rankings to go by is also very subjective and daft, the fact is he is ranked no. 8 with the WBC (Heiland is No.1) and no. 13 with the WBO (the title BJS holds). Hardly top of the pile with any sanctioning body.
And yes, next week NDam is facing Mendy a fight that should get him back in the win column.
Lets make sure he comes through Mendy first however, then this fight may grow on me a smidge...

N'Dam took 5 of 12 rounds off Quillin and 5/6 off Lemieux, if it wasn't for his dodgy chin he'd be right up there with the top names in the division and Saunders isn't exactly a puncher. He'd probably go in as favourite but N'Dam would be a very live underdog, if Saunders isn't at his best he'll get beat.

I'd rather go off the Ring having him at 7, TBRB at 8, ESPN at 10 and Boxing News at 10 than whoever the various sanctioning bodies have pulled out of a hat this month.

Ring, TBRB & Espn, good for them. Wesshaw1985s rankings doesnt have him top-ten i'm afraid.
Anyhow, should the NDam fight get made i sense very little buzz in the build up, a wide points win for BJS watched by a very small crowd and small numbers on B0xNati0n.
It doesnt have to be that way...

For what's it's worth I'd say N'Dam is a better test than Heiland. If your going to have multiple world titles this is a good fight at that level.
Couldn't see either fight being a great sell so the undercard will have to feature good selling points but it's a fight I'd personally go and watch (N'Dam)
