That he's inexperienced and in no rush for a world title shot?

How awful!
Then he shouldn't keep talking about Saunders and saying he wants the fight.

Here is a quote from BJS when Eubank was available:

Saunders said: "Eubank is fighting people I beat two years ago. Let him go down the WBA route. Let him go and fight Daniel Jacobs. Don't get mandatory for a world title, thinking you're world level and then go back to fight for the British.
...
"I'd rather give Nick Blackwell a shot. Eubank Jr said he was going for the WBA route so let him go fight Gennady Golovkin. So if he beats him, then we'll have a big unification fight - that's good, isn't it?
It's not looking good for the future quality of Saunders' WBO reign.

I don't really see why it matters that he's fighting in 3 weeks. He was offered it last year, last month, last week and every time he didn't want the fight.

So, BJS was saying "I'd rather give Nick Blackwell a shot" while offering one to Eubank ? Unless you provide a reliable source, I will think that you are misinformed.

look how far down they had to sink to find this opponent. are there even 15 more out there
he is safe to beat? i wouldn't be confident he could get by eubank again, or jacobs, quillin,
lemieux, cotto, canelo, def not GGG. as boring as the lee fight was, i'm not sure he would
beat lee again, or n'dam, or sam solimon, although i might slightly favor him.
you literally have to get outside of the top 15-20 before you find guys he can
safely beat. stuff also happens in the gym and on the streets:
kell brook was stabbed

losing his title in the ring isn't the only way to lose it. that belt is his lottery ticket.
andy lee would have fought GGG and losing to saunders cost him millions he will
never get back and he will miss it later in life. saunders will be lucky to see $100k
again if he loses that title.

Saunders says lots of things, just like Fury, doesn't mean that it's true. His promoter has said many times that he's offered the fight and repeated that at the press conference today.

Although its not good for the fans, every champion is entitled to a soft first defence. BJS is still not known very well in the boxing industry so the longer he keeps the belt the more it gets people talking and interest grows for a GGG unification which would happen if GGG travels to the UK. Just think BJS knows Golovkin is better than him so wants all the advantages over GGG he can get. However not having the right platform in Sky the fight would struggle to sell out a stadium in the summer IMO.
Only fight that does sell for BJS is Eubank jr rematch which team Eubank keep ducking for some reason.

the canelo fight is marked for september and GGG fights wade late next month.
that is a VERY tight schedule that only GGG would even consider, and ONLY
because he wants the belts. maybe somewhere around 4th of july there could
be a very small chance of it getting squeezed in but if it doesn't, i could see
the threads on here about GGG being a chicken ducker and this and that for
not being able to schedule it. if it was in london, it would be right in the middle
of wimbledon with lots of countries ramping up their olympic teams so it
may just not be possible.

I think he all know that Alvarez isn't fighting Golovkin at this point, he's in a position where he can fight who he wants under the terms he wants, Golovkin isn't going to agree to those terms.

The only reason they can't do it in July/August is if they can't sort out a venue for it, Wimbledon is a non issue, hardly anyone that goes there will have any interest in boxing, Olympics won't be a problem either, not going to be many spending money to watch them.

Not a huge fan of Billy Joe fighting Bursak, but I do personally believe that every World champ is entitled to cherry pick their first title defence.....within reason of course. As long as he doesn't follow it up with another poor opponent, then I am not that bothered by it.

Its common knowledge Eubank turned down a fight against BJS multiple times, even before BJS won the world title but Eubank turned down the rematch because he didn't want to lose his interim title! Now he's turned down another title opportunity against Jacobs do you want to dispute that too?

If Frank was lying Eubank would call him out on it and demand the fight with BJS but he hasn't said anything because the fact is he's rejected multiple offers. He says he can beat GGG but has turned down fights with Jacobs and BJS.

Its the way of the Sport. There is not many current fighters/champions who go straight into big fights once winning the belt. 90% of fighters do the same, everyone knows this.

I didn't know it. Call me old fashioned but I like my world championship fights to be between top level fighters. Contenders can take as many soft opponents as they like while they are up & coming, climbing the rankings.

There's taking a soft opponent and then there's taking the piss.

Fans shouldn't adopt your attitude; that this kind of matchmaking for world title fights is even close to acceptable, vote with your wallets and boycott this garbage.

I hope the event makes a loss.

Common knowledge ? Among who ? British Gypsies ? You are just listening to one side and ignoring the other. To me, it sounds like BJS wanted to dictate terms, and it didn't work.

Among anyone with sense that's followed it and understands the situation. Eubank has been offered the fight at least 3 times and has rejected every offer, he can say he wants it all he likes, actions speak louder than words. Saunders is the champion, he has every right to dictate the terms, didn't even really do that judging by what's been said, it was Eubank making the ridiculous demands.

It is not a champion who is supposed to make demands, but an A side. Lee vs BJS title fight showed that they are both crappy draws, so BJS is clearly not an A side against Eubank Jr.

Saunders' demands for a GGG fight are absolutely ridiculous and most likely his demands for Eubank fight were not realistic either.

It was nothing to do with BJS it was his promoter who wanted a rematch clause, standard for every voluntary world title fight. If Eubank won that would be 2 big paydays but instead he's going to fight for 10x less.

He's not the A side, he was fighting in shopping centres before Frank signed him, it was the rivalry between them that made the fight big.

Saunders agreed his side of the deal. Eubank's demands are the reason the fight hasn't happened.

Yes, except the weight. If Canelo's financial and other demands are not accepted by GGG, then it will go to purse bids and Canelo will get whatever split is mandated for a champion by WBC.
