LOL, he 'hit' him when he was down. If he says he can't continue it doesn't matter if the ref believes him.
That's not what happened in Pascal vs Bolonti fight. The ref clearly didn't believe Bolonti.

Astounding to me that anyone bought that or when Cintron dove out of the ring against PWill. Old news anyway, just poignant to the question posed. In other news Vitali beat Lennox Lewis and Floyd ducked Hatton & Cotto.
Don't be laying that last line of crap at my doorstep.

Cintron was classic.

I've seen shots that looked less lethal than what Dirrell took put people down.
I've seen guys go down without getting hit at all. That was the softest 'punch' Abraham has ever thrown in his life.
I wasn't in there. I didn't take the shot. It sucked that it ended that way. I did feel bad for Abraham and Dirrell. Andre had fought well but Abraham looked to be taking control.

IIRC, Andre looked at the ref and looked like he was about to complain right after the illegal blow, then started the buffoonery.

Seriously, I was embarrassed just watching.

If that wasn't faked, that was the latest reaction to (what looked to be) the softest shot I've ever seen. The whole thing was bizarre.

How many times have you seen a fighter take a shot, be fine for a couple seconds, drop, start convulsing, then wake up and start crying?

Apollo Creed started convulsing.... but he never woke up.

I'm obviously in the minority here. Maybe you are all correct but I don't see enough conclusive evidence to condemn Andre.

Ruinous end to a good fight though.

I knew Saad was gonna be in here busting Dirrell's balls about the Abraham fight  . Me and Saad share that opinion on that fight.

That's exactly what he did, as if he was first checking out to see what the ref would do.

After Abraham bounced a couple of those heavy handed punches off his onion he has never been the same. Hell I give him some credit for even wanting to go to the gym to train. The con job was a disgrace but after getting hit by Abraham who wouldn't get out of there if the opportunity came. If he would have continued he most likely would have gotten seriously hurt. Not only is Abraham a big puncher he is a very heavy handed puncher.

Well a few things happened. He either was damaged by the Abraham fight and completely lost his confidence OR like Saad said, he had some kind of panic attack and lost his confidence that way anyway. One thing I will say though and I dont know if it was just an age thing or maybe I was seeing things that others didnt see but to me his legs looked gone in the fights leading up to the Degale fight on his comeback. He used to have really quick feet to go with his really quick hands but he looked really flat footed to me. Nowhere near the agility he used to have. Now obviously every fighter slows down as they age but the difference was particularly noticeable to me.

i'm curious as to whether anyone else picked up on that?

Well that was uncanny. Started a thread on what happened to Andre Dirrell and next thing he announces a fight against Blake Caparello.

Red faces  for a few after what they have written here :D

It takes a lot more bravery to step in a boxing ring than it does for someone to criticize them for doing it on a forum

A lot braver than you will ever be that's for sure.
