Clearly you haven't seen any of his fights since Garcia and maidana. Khan is completely different now.
Against Alexander and collazo he threw 2-3 punches then immediately backed off and kept circling. He only threw more when he saw a clear opening or the opponent was on the ropes. And he doesn't trade punches or attempt to go out on bis shield anymore. When he hurt he actually backs off or clinches and will smother anyone attempting to fight on the inside.
No one is saying he has the footwork and speed of mayweather, but neither does COTTO and even Cotto was able to slip and weave and keep canelo plodding after him for all 12 rounds.
Cotto with all of his vulnerabilities can still take a better punch than Khan can.
Really? He got knocked loose by Corley and chop chop was coming up in wight.
No Corley wasn't. The fight was at 140 and Corley fought Judah and Floyd at 140 years before Cotto did. And Corley is known to be a surprise banger.

Canelo is getting way too much credit for beating an old overrated midget in Cotto who had an unusual lack of pop on his punches that night in the ring. Cotto was pushing his right hand, almost slapping at times and that's why he turned to the jab as his primary and only weapon that night. Khan has been taking punches way better at 147 too. Hasn't been buzzed yet.
Look at who he fought at 147. He hasn't really fought any bangers since moving up. Alexander? Algeri? Collazo? And he was hurt by Diaz.

Ward really hasn't been in with a live opponent in about 3 years, the last scrub guy he fought didn't count, he is fighting at a higher weight maybe rusty, I give Barrera a chance not much but a chance at upset.

I think that the better question is look who avoided Khan at 147? Floyd clearly dodged Khan multiple times most notably with that bogus "Fans pick my next opponent" charade he put on. Manny also wanted no part of it after many battles in the gym that rumor had Khan always had the edge. Your point is a good one but just because someone hasn't fought the brass of the division, doesn't mean he's not the brass of the division. Canelo is going to have one of his toughest fights with Khan. He will struggle and not walk through Khan.

Khan didn't even fight Porter, Thurman, or Brook.

Thurman's fought absolutely no one and now dodged Porter like a chump the first time around so who just gives him this notoriety as some great fighter? He's been buzzed by absolute garbage opponents so i'm not sold on him at all. Brook has one significant win and all of sudden he thinks he's the second coming of Ali. Who's to say who the real "brass" of 147 pounders right now?
