DeGale told to ESPN that he is considering moving up and fighting Stevenson and Kovalev. He must be frustrate by not getting proper fights. Signing with Haymon was probably a mistake on his part as he cant deliver a sht and Eddie made it clear that he wont work hard for those guys who leave him for Al.

See no reason why both DeGale and Jack are fighting on the same bill against opponents the others beat, why not stop effing about and unify now

Degale stoppage at 2/5. I'd have 50 grand on to win 20 grand if I had the money.

I doubt whatever he is payed is significantly better then what he would be payed in the UK, or at all better. He could have headlined shows in London that pays lots of money. But my point is that his carrier is not developing in USA as it could. DeGale always had a big ego and if he is not in big fights he is not happy. I also suspect he wants unification with Jack and he is upset that Haymon is not giving it to him.

DeGale says he's getting paid a lot more in America than the headline offers in the UK.

The only way he gets paid more here is if he fights another Brit.

Financially he's been very successful under Haymon and his road warrior mentality needs to be commended.

Exactly. Every time I go through the schedule I say the same thing. Two guys on the same card at the same weight with similar records fighting journeymen. Does my nut in.

Calling Bute a journeyman is harsh. He's got a chance against Jack.

But porky is no more than a high level gatekeeper.

I've not worded that properly mate. I just meant when I see prospects on the same card or guys with similar records fighting journeymen. Just when I am having a look through the schedule. Bute is far from a journeyman. Gave DeGale a very good fight I thought. I'd agree he's in with a shout against Jack definitely.

Should be an easy nights work for Degale. Bit of a mismatch really, Medina is the sort of opponent I'd expect someone like Fielding to face. Not a world champ.

Is he a mando or is it a voluntary defence?

I thought it was a mandatory mate? I'm sure it is. Medina has won his last few by KO and has a good win over J'Leon Love so that's obviously pushed him into the mandatory position. Agree though, it's a straight forwards nights work for DeGale. I don't foresee any dramas. Gets the mandatory out the way and frees him up for (hopefully) a big fight in the summer.

I always enjoy watching DeGale. He's a lovely boxer when he puts his foot down. Bit of a frustrating guy to watch because he has all the talent in the world but tends to switch off too easily and can be dictated and dragged into the wrong kind of fight.

Ah, I was unsure because the Love fight was 2 years ago and his past wins were against pretty poor opponents. If he's the mando then that's fair enough.

Jose Uzecategui was mandated but pulled out injured so Medina got pushed up

Yeah you're right there man. IBF mandatories are rank awful! Just ask Kell Brook!

Steven Smith got in to a mandatory position fighting bums. Good win against the Italian guy but he was over the hill. I think they make it up as they go along!
