He should rematch Zepeda. The guy put his shoulder out, he wash`t "beaten" by Flanagan. Dangerous puncher as well, so would be a good test for Terry.

Why? Zepeda would be a good matchup. As I`ve said, it`s not like Flanagan proved himself the better fighter, it was a freak injury.

Flanagan should only fight Zepeda if he has to. He's unlikely to beat him as easily again, so how does he benefit from the rematch?

I'd prefer the Walsh fight.

the walsh fight would be a belter, id love to see that.

I'd be surprised if it was Walsh or Zepeda as this fight is the support and not the main event.
Those two options can be sold another time as the main event.
I think an easier option lower down the current rankings will be named ..having said that a top 15 opponent could still be dangerous .

Yeah, would be a cracker. I think Liam wins, think he would beat Crolla too. Hope he gets a big fight soon, really talented fighter.

It's about time liam got a shot at the big time... that's where he belongs. If he can beat Flanagan he can beat crolla but only one way to find out

Can't see Walsh ever holding a belt.

But he could probably put up a good fight for one of the titles.

Last few years have been a really good era for British lightweights.

This is not a good fight. Fana is 42 and his best years are long gone.

Hopefully Verdejo is installed as the madatory soon. This fight is poor.

As said, Fana is a relatively light punching lightweight 4 months away from his 43rd birthday.
He is competent, but his best years are way behind him. He started his pro career all the way back in 1994, and won the South African Super Featherweight title all the way back in 1999.
He was very decent back in the day, but we are talking 10 to 15 years ago as his heyday.

Iv had a moment in this thread where I joked that it would be Martin Gethin.

I'd have been happier with Martin Gethin than this guy.

Good fight this, if it was 2 years ago for the Commonwealth title. Now it's poor, nothing more than a chance for Flanagan to look good in front of the casuals.

I see one person has voted for Fana by decision. Does Fana or his mum have a boxrec account, or did someone press the wrong button?

TBH i wasnt impressed with Flanagan against Mathews,he won well but i expected him to look a lot better and get the KO but he seemed a bit content to go the distance pretty early and was dirty throughout when i expected Derry to be the one trying to make it rough

I think he'll be back to his best against Fana though,anything other than a KO will look pretty poor if he's to have a claim to be the worlds best LW

Its a great card for Williams/Corcoran alone,the 2 world title fights are mismatches TBF but to see Rigo fight in the UK is a special thing,definitely a lot of quality throughout the card with Skeete,Conlan,Langford and McCarthy also fighting

Mzonke Fana is one boxer who, when his name is mentioned, I remember straight away. Seriously think its because it's almost Fanny.

Sorry, I digress, Terry to outwork and comfortably out point the ageing south african.

Needs to step it up after this one.

I like the Williams Corcoran fight a lot because it's two young hungry unbeaten fighters fighting for PROPER titles.

Flanagan is 1/100 v Fana that says it all.

Langford and Skeete are in crap fights. Which is disspointing since they are both coming off career best wins.
