Great fight.

One of Carpenters worst 15 rounds of commentary.
I had it finnegan 143-142 using 10 point must.

The ref in this fight Roland Dakin is the same guy who gave Minter nearly every round against Antuofermo. Must of liked Minter.

Recall this being one of the last great British 15 rounders.

Great fight, Finnegan's slow start hurt him on the cards. Some great exchanges between upright, pecking, traditionally styled Brits carrying their chins ever so slightly high. Pride and skill and stamina, here. There was a round in which they were punching and catching each other st the same time and I loved it. Minter just the faster getting his shots off, especially in the first half, but suffering two or three really bad staggers in the fight once Finnegan finally got in proper position and exploded on him. Minter just seemed to have put too much work in, giving what appeared to me a cushion on the cards but Finnegan won his rounds way bigger, perhaps giving the impression he was the winner. Minter showed some bravery, fighting back when in desperate trouble. Southpaw stance and freshness really worked in favour of Minter. I'd call this a British all time classic. One of the true epic domestic bouts. I wish the first fight was regularly rebroadcast on Eurosport Boxing Supernouts as is this second fight as it sounds like Finnegan was in the first fight all the way, as opposed to coming on a bit later as in this one.
