Did that happen? Carl has been reluctant to mention it.reggaereggae wrote:Does any think George is slightly losing his mind?
I guess that is what happens when you are Cobra'd in front of 80,000 fans at Wembley

I have thought it could be a false flag and the fight never happened, but was a CGI conspiracy by the bookies to win money. Fixed like the Ali - Marciano computer fight.....

He does seemed to have lost something after the Froch fights. Might just be a confidence issue but certainly goes about things with less venom these days.
Hopefully he's starting to gel more with Mcguigan now it's his second fight with his new trainer.
I think he stops Brophy and out points Murray, then hopefully gets another title shot.

Well at least groves is still relatively young and has got time to turn things around, although these days he always looks like he needs a good rest both physically and mentally , if he achieves nothing else he's still been a welcome addition to one of Britains most successful divisions

People on here let their dislike of him cloud their opinion. He's had a great, extremely lucrative career so far
Re: What are the headlines George Groves is going on about??
Definitely lucrative, but great? He's 1-3 in the 4 biggest fights of his career with the 3 L's coming in world title fights. There's nothing wrong with that, not everyone can be world champion and Groves is without doubt a talented boxer, but to say he's had a great career is a stretch.mickey1975 wrote:People on here let their dislike of him cloud their opinion. that's interesting but I doubt it refers to Groves. I don't really want to give George any more stick but I wouldn't really define him as a champion eitherttornado wrote:Is it this?A British doctor has been secretly filmed describing how he prescribed banned performance- enhancing drugs to 150 elite sportsmen, including Premier League footballers.
An investigation by The Sunday Times has found that Dr Mark Bonar charges sports stars thousands of pounds for illicit drug programmes.
Yesterday, the culture secretary, John Whittingdale, ordered an inquiry into the taxpayer-funded UK Anti-Doping (Ukad) watchdog, which was given evidence about the doctor’s doping activities two years ago, but failed to take any action to stop him.
Bonar, 38, who is based at a private London clinic, made a series of extraordinary disclosures in meetings with undercover reporters which lay bare for the first time the depth of the drugs cheating culture within British sport. He claimed:
•His network of secret “clients” included an England cricketer, British Tour de France cyclists, a British boxing champion, tennis players and martial arts competitors as well as football players

I don't mean great as in ATG context, but yes, he's had a 'great' career. I was there when he beat DeGale, silenced the MEN and got chinned by Froch. They were big nights.ElJefe wrote:Definitely lucrative, but great? He's 1-3 in the 4 biggest fights of his career with the 3 L's coming in world title fights.
